Why choose the Emergency Care program?
Human Kinetics has partnered with the American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) to
create a unique blend of online study followed by instructor-led training and competency
assessment that provides a practical means of obtaining first aid, CPR, and AED
certification. The Emergency Care program offers you the following benefits:
• Self-paced learning and high quality instruction. An online
course takes the place of the traditional classroom course allowing students to work at
their own pace and review the material as needed. With the online course, participants
receive the same level of instruction regardless of when or where they study.
• Specialized training options. Our courses tailor ASHI’s nationally recognized
curriculums to the specific needs of coaches, aquatic personnel, or fitness and general staff,
allowing you to offer customized instruction to everyone in your organization.
About the Emergency Care program
Our Emergency Care program lets you offer specialized training to each member of
your staff. Rather than have everyone take the same general class, you can offer each
staff member a course that will help them learn the skills in a way that makes sense to
them—by working through situations they’ll likely face on the job. Participants will be
asked to role-play realistic scenarios, such as practice 911 calls, and complete interactive
activities based on American Heart Association guidelines, including virtual CPR and AED
activities. Because they learn the skills within a work context, they’ll make the connection
to real-world experience more easily and be able to act confidently if the need arises.
Once participants have passed the online component, they take part in an instructor-led
session followed by written and practical exams to receive certification from the ASHI.
• Save staff time. Your staff will train for certification online so they study
whenever and wherever they want, leaving more time to spend on their regular duties.
Preparing online also means you won’t have to bring everyone together at the same
time for a traditional classroom course, making it an especially attractive training option
for your seasonal employees.
