<strong>Redeemer</strong> Alumni<br />

Where are they now?<br />

Marcus Thorn (84) was a founding student at <strong>Redeemer</strong> <strong>Lutheran</strong><br />

<strong>College</strong>. Highlights since attending <strong>Redeemer</strong> have included<br />

travelling to Hawaii, Palm Springs, LA. He has also recently become<br />

a Grandfather to Jasper Ryan, born on 14 October 2009.<br />

Elizabeth Lyons (09) was a recent recipient of the QUT<br />

Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship and was received the award at a<br />

presentation ceremony held at QUT on Monday 8 March 2010.<br />

Tracey Doe (Tipler 90) attended <strong>Redeemer</strong> for Years 11 and<br />

12 in 1989 and 1990 and has been living in London for the last<br />

11 years working as an Accountant. Tracey has been married<br />

to Nigel for 9 years, and have a 2 year old girl, Annabel and<br />

another on the way in February 2010.<br />

Andrew Bain (91) is currently lecturing Church History at the<br />

Queensland Theological <strong>College</strong> at St Lucia and is married to<br />

Robyn. They have a 2 year old daughter, Guinevere.<br />

Heath Gleig-Scott (91) started his legal career rather late<br />

(wouldn’t have changed it though as he has been happy to<br />

gain “life experience”!) and is now working at MDRN Solicitors<br />

Capalaba after a total of 14 years in CBD firms (in both<br />

administration and professional roles. Heath is engaged to<br />

Caitlin, who is a Vet at the Animal Emergency Service Clinic<br />

at Underwood. They will be married on 12 June 2010.<br />

Ian Bailey-Mortimer (Mortimer 91) completed a Bachelor<br />

of Science with Honours at UQ from 1992-1995, majoring in<br />

Pure Mathematics and Computer Science. From 1996-2001 he<br />

worked as a computer programmer for various companies, and<br />

in various locations including Colorado, USA (as well as Brisbane).<br />

Ian was married to Laetitia Bailey in 1998 and have travelled<br />

to Germany and the UK in 2003-2004. Ian studied at Christian<br />

Heritage <strong>College</strong> throughout 2005-2006, and then worked<br />

as a teacher at Mackay Christian <strong>College</strong> from 2007-2009.<br />

Ian and Laetitia moved back to Brisbane at the start of <strong>this</strong> year<br />

to commence a teaching position at Calvary Christian <strong>College</strong>.<br />

Joel Pukallus (93) is a <strong>Lutheran</strong> Pastor, and after 7 years working<br />

most recently in a role in the Lockyer Valley <strong>Lutheran</strong> Parish and<br />

Faith <strong>Lutheran</strong> <strong>College</strong> at Plainland. Pastor Joel has accepted a<br />

call to St Peter’s <strong>Lutheran</strong> <strong>College</strong> in Indooroopilly as “Residential<br />

Pastor” and once again finds himself living on a <strong>Lutheran</strong> School<br />

campus as he did for most of his student years at <strong>Redeemer</strong>.<br />

His Son Joshua (6) begins at St Peters in Year 1 <strong>this</strong> year, with<br />

his younger son Jacob to begin Prep there in 2011. Pastor Joel is<br />

married to Anne (who is the younger sister of former <strong>Redeemer</strong><br />

staff member, Susan Seng.)<br />

Leigh-Chantelle Koch (96) organised the Green Earth Festival<br />

held at the Brisbane City Botanic Gardens on Saturday 13 March<br />

Danni Stumer (03) has been working at the Ballon Outdoor<br />

Education for the past 6 since where she commenced in 2004.<br />

In mid 2008 she travelled to California USA to work as a waterski<br />

instructor and life guard at a summer camp for three months.<br />

In mid 2009 she took three weeks to explore Australia, travelling<br />

through Queensland, Northern Territory, Western Australia<br />

and South Australia. Danni has completed her qualifications in<br />

Outdoor Education and Wilderness First Aid and enjoys teaching<br />

her many students now to survive in the bush.<br />

Sherita Thambiratnam (08) is currently finishing her degree in<br />

Economics at QUT, and has just won the QUT First Year Prize for<br />

best performance in business!<br />
