The eHealth Innovation Contest features the brightest of Denmark’s eHealth entrepreneurs and innovators. Their
pitches will be evaluated by a panel of technology and innovation officers from Microsoft, IBM, HP, Dell and
VMware, accompanied by Kaiser Permanente’s CEO George C. Halvorson. The pitches are pre-screened by
a jury of Danish eHealth experts from the public and private sector. The contest is brought to you by the Embassy
of the United States of America, The Danish Society of Engineers, IDA, Fonden for Entreprenørskab / Young
Enterprise Danmark, DI ITEK and Venture Cup. The U.S. Ambassador to Denmark Laurie S. Fulton gives opening
remarks on the importance of innovation and intrapreneurship in the healthcare sector. You can read more about

Is Free Public Health Sustainable in Times of Growing Chronicity?

In a European Public Healthcare market where costs are likely to double in the next five to ten years, some
citizens have already started paying towards the public healthcare they receive. In some countries service quality,
or the range of services, is already being negatively affected by increased chronic illness in an aging population.
As Governments maintain or even reduce health budgets, health management is being mooted as a possible
answer. This focus group will discuss means for proactive care that increases patient involvement and remote
monitoring capabilities, while improving service quality and efficiency, and reducing costs. Join us for a discussion
