Dear reader,
this issue concentrates on the first Euro Cup Youth
which is scheduled for next week-end at the Mooslargue
facility. We present you the teams and their horses.
Unfortunately we only received further details of
the German and the Czech team. Of course, we will
report directly from the show ground next issue.
Further big shows cast their shadows ahead – especially
the European Championship of American Quarter
Horses which includes other highlights: DQHA Futurity,
NSBA Futurity and EM as well as NRHA Lawson
and Pullman Bronze Trophy. And the deadline is this
week!

Euro Cup Youth
***** Next week-end there will be the first Euro Cup
Youth at Mooslargue (France), a nations cup presenting
the best Youth teams of the European Quarter
Horse Associations. Eight Associations announced
their coming. These are the teams and horses.

German Team: Felix Schnabel
15-year-old Felix Schnabel is a pupli of Realschule in
Walldorf. He started riding at the age of ten and got his
first American Quarter Horse in 2000. Meanwhile,
there are seven of them. Since 2002 the familiy operates
a riding and boarding stable for 46 horses.
Felix became 2004 European Champion Youth Western
Riding, EWU German Champion Superhorse Youth as
well as three times national champion Youth Rheinland-Pfalz
in Superhorse, Western Riding , Horsemanship
2002 and Horsemanship and Pleasure 2003 –
astride Cinderella Slider.
Since November, he is riding 9-year-old gelding Instant
Inpulse and competes successfully in Western Riding,
Pleasure, Trail and Horsemanship.

Czech Team for the Euro Youth Cup is ready!

In the recent years the quality of Czech horses and
riders has been increasing rapidly. One of the proofs
is the team of young prospective riders who are going
to represent the Czech republic during the first Euro
Youth Cup in Mooslargue. Czech Quarter Horse Association
is proud to be able to introduce the team consisting
of:

All young riders have prooved to be very successful
during various events in the Czech republic (QH
Shows, Championships of the Czech Republic, reining
events) and most of them have already successfully
represented the Czech Republic abroad.
Czech Quarter Horse Association has supported
the Czech team both organisationally and financially.
The preparation of the team was possible thanks to the
trainers: Klara Salkova, Ivan Cernoch and Karel Kubata.
CZQHA wishes to thank all of them, including the
sponsors of the trip (companies: Commodum, Janek,

DQHA Futurity / Maturity 2005
***** DQHA’s main event, the DQHA Futurity will be
part of the EC again and will take place on August 20
and 21 at Rieden-Kreuth (Oberpfalz). Saturday starts
with the Halter shows of weanlings, yearling, 2-yearolds,
and 3-year-olds. The best weanling will become
Champion of Champions. The Performance classes follow
afterwards and on Sunday
in Trail, Western Pleasure,
Western Riding, Reining,
Cutting and Working
Cowhorse. Altogether there
is a purse of at least EUR
85 000,--. Please note that
only horses with an N/N
HYPP test may be entered.
The test must have been
done via AQHA. Private
tests are not accepted.
July 20: Deadline for European
Championship of
American Quarter Horses
On July 20, there is the
deadline of nomination for
the European Championship
of American Quarter
Horses, Europe’s biggest
AQHA Show which is scheduled
for August 18 to 28,
2005 at Rieden-Kreuth (Oberpfalz). Besides the EC
classes, there is a selection of various other important
highlights.

NRHA Lawson and Pullman Bronze Trophy during the EC
***** During the European Championship of American
Quarter Horses in Kreuth there will also be an NRHA
Lawson and Pullman Bronze Trophy which is dual
approved in USA and Germany. The Non Pro will be on
Saturday, August 20, the Open on Sunday, August 21.
The purse is USD 2000,-- each. The judges are Allen
Mitchels, Andrea Simons and Steve Brown. Entry fee
will be 200$ / 164 _, with 50% payback.

First Time: NSBA European Championship
***** For the first time, there will be an NSBA European
Championship including the NSBAS of Germany,
Belgium and Italy. It will be part of the European
Championship der American Quarter Horses and will
be in Hunter under Saddle Open as well as Western
Pleasure Open, Non Pro and Youth. The show runs
class in class with the NSBA Trophy during the second
week-end (August 27 and 28).
So, the EC at Kreuth will be the major NSBA event of
the year with a total purse of EUR 18 000,-- for all
NSBA shows.
NSBA Futurity 2005
***** Traditionally, NSBA Germany organizes ist main
event, the Futurity, together with the DQHA Futurity.
The NSBA Futurity classes will be during the first
week-end of the European Championship, the Longe
Line and Western Pleasure Futurity being on Saturday,
August 20, the Hunter under Saddle Futurity on Sunday.
Dor the NSBA Futurity horses can be nominated
whose sire was paid into the NSBA Futurity programme
the year before the foal was born. For the NSBA
Western Pleasure Futurity and the NSBA Hunter under
Saddle Futurity horses must be between 3 and 5 years
old, for the Longe Line between yearling and 2-yearold.
In Longe Line, the horse’s conformation is chekked
according to its future use as a mount. Horses are
shown at the longe in all three gaits and on both sides
in 90 seconds.

Next week-end DQHA Südfuturity
***** With the DQHA Südfuturity at the Green Ground
Ranch in Failsheim on Saturday, the 2005 regional
futuritys of Deutschen Quarter Horse Association
begin. These were reorganized last year, so that there
are only for region futuritys this year whereas each
state had its own in the past. The Südfuturity includes
DQHA members from Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg.
There is a total purse of EUR 5000,-- in the Futurity
plus another EUR 1000,-- in the Jackpot classes.

NRHA Breeders Futurity 2005
***** From October 10 to 16, 2005 there will be the
NRHA Breeders Futurity 2005 in Kreuth (Germany).
Besides the Breeders Futurity classes in SBH Open and
Non Pro as well as Bit Open and Non Pro, the show
offers an NRHA Pullman and Lawson Bronze Trophy
Open and Non Pro, a Limited Open and Non Pro, an
Intermediate Non Pro as well as two Youth shows. The
total purse will be EUR 150 000,--. Deadline is September
2.

DQHA offers three mare presentations
again this year.
October 22, 2005 - Circle L
Ranch in Wenden
October 23, 2005 - Five Star
Ranch in Lindlar
October 29, 2005 - Gestüt Ludwig
Quarter Horses in Bitz
A maximum of 50 mares
can compete per presentation.
Nominations: DQHA office. The
mares are presented to the judges
on a triangular way. Mares
are judge for type, conformation,
legs/hooves, correct movement
and quality of movement.
With a score of 7,0 or better, the
mare will be entered into the
DQHA Studbook I. Reaching a
score of 8,0 or better it will be
named Elite mare. The best two
mares of the year will become
Champion DQHA elite mare
resp. Reserve Champion DQHA
elite mare. The purse per presentation
is EUR 1000,-- plus 50
% paybach on entry fees.

How to nominate:
∑ Download entry forn at www.dqha.de under breeding
/ mare presentations, fill it out and send it to the
DQHA office with a copy of the horse’s paper and the
DQHA membership card. Please add cheque with fees.
∑ No show equipment necessary! Mare presentations
are no halter shows. Boots should be worn, however.
∑ Horses should be halter broke of course and should
listen to your commands. They should stand quietly so
that the judge can do his job properly.
∑ Again: the mare need not be a halter mare. The 2004
top mares came from various bloodlines and were used
as broodmare, performance horses etc. there were great
reining horses among them as well as halter horses.

Heavens Dream Girl
***** Winning the Senior Western Pleasure
with both judges during the Nümbrecht
Open, Heavens Dream Girl should
now have enough success for her Superior
in this discipline, The 6-year-old gray
mare is by Zippos Heaven Sent (by Zippo
Pine Bar) out of a granddaughter of
Sonny Deluxe.
Her owner Susanne Hermanns bought
the mare as a yearling at the World
Show Sale.
Heavens Dream Girl placed fourth then
at the American Futurity. She was later
on trained in Germany and continued
her show career under Sylvia Jäckle.
The mare placed second at the 2003
International German Championship,
was DQHA and NSBA High Point Horse
2003, DQHA Reserve High Point Horse
2004 and placed fourth at the 2004 European
Championship. After her successful
show career, the mare will now become
a broodmare.
