Sand Mountain. After the death <strong>of</strong> her mother, the younger brothers and sisters scattered, living with<br />
some <strong>of</strong> the older ones who were already out on their own. For this reason she did not have close<br />
contact with some <strong>of</strong> them after this time. A short time after the marriage <strong>of</strong> Sarah Viola (Sally) to<br />
<strong>William</strong> B. Driskill (Jan. 1901), <strong>William</strong> T. Holcomb and his second family moved to Texas.<br />

1920 in Greenville, Texas , Hunt County. He was born April 02, 1892 in Texas, and died January 03,<br />
1952 in Lone Oak, Texas.<br />

Martha Louise Holcomb was born in Cherokee County, Alabama on March 12, 1899. Soon after her<br />
birth her father moved his family to the Sand Mountain area <strong>of</strong> Alabama in DeKalb, County. Late in<br />
1903 her father, <strong>William</strong> Taylor Holcomb, moved the family once again, this time to Ladonia, Texas. It<br />
was in this general area <strong>of</strong> Texas that Martha Louise Holcomb would spend the rest <strong>of</strong> her life. She<br />
married Olvey Melvin Moore from the area <strong>of</strong> Lone Oak, Texas and it was in this area that she settled<br />
and raised her family <strong>of</strong> one boy and two girls. She married Olvey Moore on September 2, 1920 in<br />
Greenville, Texas, Hunt County. Martha Louise Holcomb Moore died on Saturday, August 18, 1979 in<br />
a Golden, Colorado hospital. She was visiting her Daughter, Martha Earl Moore Riordan at the time.<br />
Her mother was Luella Strickland Cantrell Holcomb. Mattie Louise was a member <strong>of</strong> the Lone Oak<br />
Baptist church and a past member <strong>of</strong> the Order <strong>of</strong> the Eastern Star. Survivors include a son, Billy<br />
Melvin Moore <strong>of</strong> Lone Oak; daughters, Mary Mosley <strong>of</strong> Tyler and Martha Riordan <strong>of</strong> Golden,<br />
Colorado; sisters Mrs. Ray <strong>William</strong>s <strong>of</strong> Albuquerque, New Mexico, Mrs. B.B. Dooley <strong>of</strong> Commerce,<br />
Texas, Mrs. L.L. Marx <strong>of</strong> Atlanta, Georgia; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was<br />
preceded in death by her husband on January 3, 1952. Martha Louise was buried in the City Cemetery<br />
<strong>of</strong> Lone Oak, Texas.Aunt Louise's Social Security Number was 451-50-9590. Her last residence was in<br />
Tyler , Texas, in the home <strong>of</strong> Mary Lou , her daughter.<br />
Notes for Olvey Melvin Moore:<br />
Olvey Melvin Moore was born in Lone Oak , Texas. He started working in a blacksmith shop there<br />
when he was twelve years old. After working there for several years he wandered around for a few<br />
years and then came back and somehow put together the money to buy the blacksmith shop he had<br />
worked at at a younger age and stayed there for over forty years. Olvey liked to play dominoes and<br />
played quite <strong>of</strong>ten with Ben Holcomb, Herbert Cantrell and Bonnie Dooley. <strong>The</strong>y played mostly 42<br />
and played for drinks. <strong>The</strong> winner would get a drink from the corn likker bottle and the losers would<br />
get a sniff. Ater the games they would sit around the drop forge in Olveys blacksmith shop and sing<br />
songs such as Sweet Adeline. Olvey was a good , Hard working man who along with Martha Louise<br />
raised a good family <strong>of</strong> one boy and two girls. He died on January 3, 1952 and is buried in Lone Oak,<br />
Texas.<br />
