3.2.9 Postal and electronic communications<br />
Division 3 of Part 4.3 of <strong>the</strong> <strong>UEA</strong> provides rebuttable presumptions<br />
regarding:<br />
• <strong>the</strong> receipt of pre-paid mail at an address in Australia four working<br />
days after being posted (s160)<br />
• <strong>the</strong> transmission and receipt of electronic communications (s161)<br />
• <strong>the</strong> receipt of lettergrams and telegrams 24 hours after <strong>the</strong> message<br />
was delivered <strong>to</strong> a post office for transmission as a lettergram or<br />
telegram (s162)<br />
Each presumption is rebuttable if <strong>the</strong>re is evidence sufficient <strong>to</strong> raise<br />
doubt about its validity.<br />
