Day 12 Dazu – Yangtze River Cruise
Dating back to the Tang Dynasty in the 7th
century the rock carvings combine elements from
Confucianism, Daoism and Buddhism. As you will
discover during your Included visit, the thousands
of carvings decorating the limestone walls are
a unique blend of these religions. Continue to
Chongqing, the mountain city and gateway to the
mighty Yangtze River and embark on your Included
luxury Yangtze River cruise. After settling in,
enjoy dinner before the ship sets sail downstream

Day 13 Yangtze River Cruise Start your
morning with an energising Tai Chi session on deck
before an Included shore excursion to either the
“Ghost City” of Fengdu or the new relocation village
for families that have been relocated as a result of
the dam project. Fengdu is an interesting place to
learn some of the tenets of Taoism and the story
behind the ghost city name. Meals: FB,L,D
Day 14 Yangtze River Cruise Travel through
the most scenic stretch of the Yangtze as it makes its
way through a spectacular series of limestone ridges,
known as the ‘Three Gorges’. Cruise through
Qutang Gorge, the shortest, narrowest and most
dramatic gorge then through Wu Gorge, known for
its quiet beauty. Float along Shennong Stream in a
sampan, before cruising through Xiling Gorge, the
longest of the three gorges. Meals: FB,L,D
Day 15 Yangtze River Cruise – Shanghai This
morning enjoy an Included shore excursion to the
site of the Three Gorges Dam Project. Disembark at
Yichang and transfer to the airport for your Included
flight to the exciting metropolis of Shanghai. Stroll
along the magnificent historic riverfront Bund,
with its 1930s European colonial architecture and
incredible views across the Huangpu River to the
Oriental Tower and skyscrapers of Pudong. Three

Day 16 Shanghai Take your Included ride on
Shanghai’s famous Maglev Train and travel at speeds
in excess of 400 kilometres an hour. Encounter
amazing treasures and antiques on your Included

People’s Square. Enjoy a delicious lunch of dim
sum before exploring the narrow historic lanes
and bustling street markets on your Included visit
to the exquisite Yu Yuan Gardens of old Shanghai.
