Day 5 Xi’an Discovered by a local farmer only late<br />
in the 20th century, the remarkable and awe-inspiring<br />
Terracotta Warriors and Horses which were created<br />
to protect the tomb of China’s first Emperor Qin<br />

Day 6 Xi’an <strong>Scenic</strong> Enrich: Travel to nearby<br />
Hu Xi'an County, famous for Peasant Painting.<br />
Developed during the 1950s, this naive style of<br />
painting features strong colours and depicts everyday<br />
life and the beautiful landscape surrounding Hu<br />
Xi'an County. Enjoy your Included lunch at a local<br />
painter's home before returning to Xi’an. Delve into<br />
its historical past and enjoy the panoramic views as<br />
you navigate the Ancient City Walls, one of the oldest<br />
in China originally built in the 14th century, on your<br />

Day 7 Xi’an – Chongqing Travel to the airport<br />
for your Included flight to Chongqing, the mountain<br />
city and gateway to the Yangtze River and embark<br />
on your Included luxury Yangtze River Cruise. After<br />
settling in, enjoy dinner before the ship sets sail<br />
downstream through the Three Gorges. Three<br />

Day 8 Yangtze River Cruise Start your day with<br />
an energising Tai Chi session on deck before an Included<br />
shore excursion to either the “Ghost City” of Fengdu or<br />
the new relocation village for families relocated as a result<br />
of the dam project. Fengdu is an interesting place to learn<br />
some of the tenets of Taoism and the story behind the<br />
ghost city name.<br />

Day 9 Yangtze River Cruise Travel through<br />
the most scenic stretch of the Yangtze as it makes<br />
its way through a spectacular series of limestone<br />
ridges, known as the ‘Three Gorges’. Cruise through<br />
Qutang Gorge, the shortest, narrowest and most<br />
dramatic gorge then through Wu Gorge, known for<br />
its quiet beauty. Float along Shennong Stream in a<br />
sampan, before cruising through Xiling Gorge, the<br />
longest of the three gorges. Meals: FB,L,D<br />
Day 10 Yangtze River Cruise – Shanghai This<br />
morning enjoy an Included shore excursion to the<br />
site of the Three Gorges Dam Project. Disembark at<br />
Yichang and transfer to the airport for your Included<br />
flight to the exciting metropolis of Shanghai. Stroll<br />
along the magnificent historic riverfront Bund, with<br />
its colonial architecture and incredible views across<br />
the Huangpu River to the Oriental Tower and<br />

Day 11 Shanghai Take your Included ride on<br />
