CONSTRUCTION DETAILS
The luminaire consists of a high
pressure die cast head containing the
LED light source and optic, as well
as a pole base assembly. The control
gear is integrated within the cross
shaped aluminium extruded pole.
It is designed to operate LEDs of up
to 20W. The distinct design shields
pedestrians and drivers from glare
and prevents spill light from being
emitted above the horizontal.
SABS MARKS
The luminaire bears the
SANS 60598-2-3 safety mark.
INGRESS PROTECTION
The luminaire has a degree of
protection that complies with SANS
60598-2-3:
Lamp compartment: IP66
The IP rating is certified by an SABS
test report.
HEAD ASSEMBLY
l The bollard head assembly is
manufactured from a high
pressure die cast aluminium casting
incorporating the LEDs and optics.
It is permanently sealed to IP66
and firmly fixed to the pole.
The head assembly can be
conveniently replaced
or upgraded (FUTUREPROOF).
OPTICS
l The optical system, in conjunction
with the prismatic diffuser, provides
highly efficient and low-level
lighting with maximum glare
control.
LED
l Designed for ambient temperatures
of up to 35˚C, resulting in a
lifetime of approximately 60 000
operating hours.
l Effective high-power OSRAM
LED, 5 000K at a colour
rendering index >70.
LEDSAFE® ®
To maximize the reliability of the
LEDs, the photometric engine is
completely sealed to IP66. This
ensures that the photometric
performance is maintained over time.
THERMIX® ®
Electronic temperature monitoring
prevents overheating of LEDs and
power supply, positioned directly
next to LEDs.
CONTROL GEAR
l The electronic power supply is
suitable for operation with a
198-265V 50Hz single phase
system. The power factor is rated
at >0,95. The efficiency is rated
>89%. A fused surge protection
device rated to 10kA is provided
inside the gear compartment and
is easily replaceable upon its end
of life.
l All screws, bolts and metal parts
are made of stainless steel or
non-corrosive material.
l Mains connections are by means
of a suitable screw terminal block
with dual input terminals to
provide the possibility of throughwiring.
