Expanding the Mission<br />
<strong>2011</strong> Will Be a Year of Expansion<br />
Nevada Welcomes RHF<br />
A large crowd gathered for the groundbreaking<br />
ceremony of College Villas in Henderson, Nevada on<br />
February 24th. Partnering with First Federal Reality -<br />
DeSimone, RHF began construction on its 164th<br />
community and its first community in the state of Nevada.<br />
College Villas will be a 226-unit, tax credit apartment<br />
community for older adults when finished in the <strong>Spring</strong><br />
of 2012. The list of speakers for the event included Former<br />
Nevada Governor Richard H. Bryan, Nevada State Senator<br />
Mike Schneider, Mayor Andy Hafen and Councilwoman Gerri Schroder,<br />
from the City of Henderson.<br />
Financing for the development, construction, and operation of College Villas<br />
has been provided by the United States Department of <strong>Housing</strong> and Urban<br />
Development, the Nevada <strong>Housing</strong> Division, a Clark County HOME Loan, a<br />
City of Henderson HOME Loan, PNC Real Estate, and Wells Fargo Bank.<br />
RHF’s Mission Expands in the New England Area<br />
RHF continues to acquire affordable communities in<br />
the New England area. This now brings the total to 12<br />
communities that are<br />
Shepherd Park<br />
Shepherd Park is a 372-unit senior community in Hartford,<br />
Connecticut and is RHF’s first community in the<br />
state of Connecticut. Immediately after the paperwork<br />
was final, we began rehab work on the community.<br />
Riverside Village<br />
Riverside Village is a 312-unit family community in<br />
Leominster, Massachusetts.<br />
RHF Opens Two More Affordable Communities<br />
RHF continues to partner with the Department of <strong>Housing</strong> and<br />
Urban Development (and other local agencies and organizations)<br />
and build HUD 202 communities - even as funding for this program<br />
continues to be cut.<br />
Village Gardens<br />
Village Gardens is a 40-unit community for seniors (Norfolk,<br />
VA). This community is located next to RHF’s Village Pointe<br />
and is the fifth RHF community in Virginia.<br />
