4. Learning opportunities in the ETD sector 4.1. What are the ETD Qualifications on the National Qualifications Framework? The learning opportunities for the ETD sector lie mainly in the HET sector, as shown in Table 4.1 below. Individuals who meet the requirements of the different providers may undertake one of the many qualifications available. However, the scarce skills detailed in section 5 are particularly recommended since there are more employment opportunities for such skills. (This does not mean that there are no employment opportunities for other skills, only that the greatest demand is for the scarce skills). Also, many providers offer programs that address the critical skills, and it is particularly recommended to skills development facilitators that they include a focus on critical skills for existing employees.
