6. Serial interface check<br />
The following display will appear.<br />
⋅ MIDI operation check<br />
Set the computer switch to the MIDI position. " £" symbol will be displayed at the left of "MI" in the LCD. Using a MIDI cable, connect<br />
the MIDI IN located under the keyboard to the MIDI OUT located at the back of the piano. If the test result is OK, the LCD will indicate<br />
"OK" as follows.<br />
Using a MIDI cable, connect the MIDI IN located at the back of the piano to MIDI OUT.<br />
If the test result is OK, the LCD will indicate "OK" as follows.<br />
⋅ Computer interface operation check<br />
(1) Mac: Settings for connection to a Macintosh.<br />
Set the computer switch to Mac. An underline will be displayed below Mc in the LCD.<br />
Connect a computer test cable (part no. 17049906) to the Computer connector under the keyboard.<br />
Check both ends of the white conductor (signal) and black conductor (ground) of the test cable by oscilloscope, and confirm that a 1<br />
MHz clock is present.<br />
Now turn on the switch of the computer test cable. If the result is normal, the OK will appear in the LCD as follows.<br />
Turn off the switch of the test cable.<br />
If the result is OK, the following display will appear in the LCD.<br />
(2) PC1: Settings for connection to a PC-9800.<br />
Set the computer switch to PC1. An underline will be displayed below P1 in the LCD.<br />
Connect a computer test cable (part no. 17049906) to the Computer connector under the keyboard, and turn on the switch of the<br />
computer test cable. If the result is OK, the following display will appear.<br />
