• Advising Petro-Canada on the renegotiation of the terms of their concession<br />
agreements<br />
• Advising Global Process Systems Inc in relation to the conversion and operation<br />
of a mobile offshore production unit for the Maleo Joint Venture in East Java,<br />
Indonesia. This included advising on all aspects of the loan documentation, project<br />
structure, project documentation and liasing and coordinating Indonesian counsel.<br />
The asset is worth approximately US$60m<br />
• Advising a Norwegian company on a possible project to construct a gas pipeline<br />
connected to a buoy capable of receiving delivery of gas from an LNG<br />
regasification vessel<br />
• Advising a number of shipowners and offshore oil & gas operators (including<br />
Teekay, I.M. Skaugen’s Norgas Carriers and a number of Fred Olsen group<br />
companies) in a series of high profile transactions for the establishment of an<br />
increased presence in Singapore for the purpose of operations under the<br />
Approved International Shipping Enterprise (AISE) scheme. The AISE scheme<br />
provides, inter alia, tax exemption for income arising from the operation of<br />
ships/offshore assets and also the establishment in Singapore enables relevant<br />
operators to take advantage of the increased profile and activity of shipping and<br />
offshore oil & gas operations in Asia<br />
• Advising Petro-Canada on bids for concession agreements in Libya, Algeria,<br />
Morocco and Trinidad<br />
• Advising World Petroleum in connection with the documentation of security<br />
arrangements in favour of Trafigura to address delayed payment of purchase price<br />
due to Trafigura for products supplied and on-sold by World Petroleum to<br />
Pertamina. The amount outstanding and due to Trafigura was approximately<br />
US$22.5m<br />
