Global Cycle Solutions<br />

Jodie is from USA and she told us about Global Cycle Solutions – it is a company which<br />

makes fittings to enable bicycles to generate power f<strong>or</strong> devices f<strong>or</strong> example to grind<br />

maize <strong>or</strong> to charge photos. She made the designs when she <strong>wa</strong>s in University studying<br />

mechanical engineering and then started the company. We agreed that we can help her to<br />

spread the w<strong>or</strong>d about these devices and to test them.<br />

Cycle caravan<br />

Paulo delivered the letter to the Guta company.<br />

Elaine printed rep<strong>or</strong>t, photos, letter and financial rep<strong>or</strong>t f<strong>or</strong> the British High Commission.<br />

Juma will deliver them.<br />

Climate change<br />

Last Saturday after the <strong>meeting</strong> Ge<strong>or</strong>ge, Juma, Idrisa and Elaine attended an event<br />

painting a <strong>wa</strong>ll with climate change messages led by Mejah at Coco Beach.<br />

UNDP<br />

Elaine has still not had time to write the proposal.<br />

Tanga<br />

Hamadi and Filbert followed up the registration <strong>of</strong> UWABATAN but are getting<br />

problems so Elaine will follow up.


Uli Malsius will travel to Tanga on Tuesday to follow up the cycle lane issue there and he<br />

invited two UWABA members to accompany him in his car. We voted and chose<br />

Dominata and Hamadi as the representatives. Elaine prepared a survey f<strong>or</strong>m f<strong>or</strong> the<br />

roads and they will meet with the municipality on Wednesday together with Uli. We<br />

agreed that UWABA will contribute Tsh 20,000 per person per night f<strong>or</strong> the costs <strong>of</strong><br />

guest house and food. Also UWABATAN will attend the <strong>meeting</strong> and participate.<br />

Fasta<br />

Elaine alichapa dondoo za mkutano <strong>wa</strong> pili na marekebisho ya mashati ya Mejah. Filbert<br />

na Hamadi <strong>wa</strong>taenda nazo k<strong>wa</strong> B<strong>wa</strong>na Bukuku.<br />

Election 2010<br />

We don’t have news about Sosthenes follow up with Councill<strong>or</strong> Lupilya because<br />

Sosthenes is sick.<br />

Idrisa went to the CCM <strong>of</strong>fice and delivered another copy <strong>of</strong> the letter and followed up.<br />

Elaine brought a copy <strong>of</strong> the letter to TLP and Paulo will follow up.<br />

Meetings with May<strong>or</strong> and Minister<br />

Elaine will visit the May<strong>or</strong>’s <strong>of</strong>fice to request an appointment.<br />

We don’t have news about Sosthenes follow up with Councill<strong>or</strong> Lupilya because<br />

Sosthenes is sick.<br />

Re-cycle<br />

Mejah is still following the TIN – Juma Chibaya will help him.<br />

Elaine will communicate with Mr Gaja to request a <strong>meeting</strong> about Re-Cycle.<br />

Foundation Civil Society<br />

Elaine sent an email but has not got a reply.<br />

M<strong>or</strong>og<strong>or</strong>o cyclists<br />

Edgar went to M<strong>or</strong>og<strong>or</strong>o and encouraged cyclists to start UWABA M<strong>or</strong>og<strong>or</strong>o. Some<br />

cyclists are interested and will communicate by email.<br />

Rural roads <strong>meeting</strong> Arusha<br />

We are <strong>wa</strong>iting f<strong>or</strong> Sosthenes to write a rep<strong>or</strong>t.<br />

Business cards<br />

We are <strong>wa</strong>iting f<strong>or</strong> Micheal.<br />

Elia cycle song<br />

We are <strong>wa</strong>iting f<strong>or</strong> Mejah<br />

Bank card<br />

Filbert will follow up.


Finances and guta<br />

The guta driver (Ramadhani) paid Tsh 14,000 now he owes Tsh 23,000.<br />

Mejah holds Tsh 20,000 to help with getting a TIN.<br />

We gave Dominata and Hamadi Tsh 80,000 to go to Tanga.<br />

Filbert spent Tsh 4,000 on binding, Tsh 600 on photocopy, Tsh 700 on stamp f<strong>or</strong> letter to<br />

Poland, Tsh 1,500 on stamp duty f<strong>or</strong> the Fasta project. Elaine spent Tsh 2,400 on phots<br />

to send to British High Commission.<br />

Filbert now has Tsh 337,600 <strong>of</strong> UWABA money. He will put it in the bank.<br />

Bank balance is Tsh 215,392.<br />

Wedding<br />

Bashiri announced he is getting married on Sunday week in Mabibo.
