Global Cycle Solutions
Jodie is from USA and she told us about Global Cycle Solutions – it is a company which
makes fittings to enable bicycles to generate power for devices for example to grind
maize or to charge photos. She made the designs when she was in University studying
mechanical engineering and then started the company. We agreed that we can help her to
spread the word about these devices and to test them.
Cycle caravan
Paulo delivered the letter to the Guta company.
Elaine printed report, photos, letter and financial report for the British High Commission.
Juma will deliver them.
Climate change
Last Saturday after the meeting George, Juma, Idrisa and Elaine attended an event
painting a wall with climate change messages led by Mejah at Coco Beach.
UNDP
Elaine has still not had time to write the proposal.
Tanga
Hamadi and Filbert followed up the registration of UWABATAN but are getting
problems so Elaine will follow up.

Uli Malsius will travel to Tanga on Tuesday to follow up the cycle lane issue there and he
invited two UWABA members to accompany him in his car. We voted and chose
Dominata and Hamadi as the representatives. Elaine prepared a survey form for the
roads and they will meet with the municipality on Wednesday together with Uli. We
agreed that UWABA will contribute Tsh 20,000 per person per night for the costs of
guest house and food. Also UWABATAN will attend the meeting and participate.
Fasta
Elaine alichapa dondoo za mkutano wa pili na marekebisho ya mashati ya Mejah. Filbert
na Hamadi wataenda nazo kwa Bwana Bukuku.
Election 2010
We don’t have news about Sosthenes follow up with Councillor Lupilya because
Sosthenes is sick.
Idrisa went to the CCM office and delivered another copy of the letter and followed up.
Elaine brought a copy of the letter to TLP and Paulo will follow up.
Meetings with Mayor and Minister
Elaine will visit the Mayor’s office to request an appointment.
We don’t have news about Sosthenes follow up with Councillor Lupilya because
Sosthenes is sick.
Re-cycle
Mejah is still following the TIN – Juma Chibaya will help him.
Elaine will communicate with Mr Gaja to request a meeting about Re-Cycle.
Foundation Civil Society
Elaine sent an email but has not got a reply.
Morogoro cyclists
Edgar went to Morogoro and encouraged cyclists to start UWABA Morogoro. Some
cyclists are interested and will communicate by email.
Rural roads meeting Arusha
We are waiting for Sosthenes to write a report.

Finances and guta
The guta driver (Ramadhani) paid Tsh 14,000 now he owes Tsh 23,000.
Mejah holds Tsh 20,000 to help with getting a TIN.
We gave Dominata and Hamadi Tsh 80,000 to go to Tanga.
Filbert spent Tsh 4,000 on binding, Tsh 600 on photocopy, Tsh 700 on stamp for letter to
Poland, Tsh 1,500 on stamp duty for the Fasta project. Elaine spent Tsh 2,400 on phots
to send to British High Commission.
Filbert now has Tsh 337,600 of UWABA money. He will put it in the bank.
Bank balance is Tsh 215,392.
Wedding
Bashiri announced he is getting married on Sunday week in Mabibo.
