winter as it drags on is to step through
the doors of Elements Salon & Spa in
Bracebridge.
You’ll be greeted by warm smiles and
friendly manners, and as you settle into a

start to relax in the Zen-like décor. With
a wide range of beauty and spa services to
choose from and with the recommendations
of a highly attuned staff, an
appointment at Elements in January or
February will make you forget the snow
outside.
“When we opened early in 2009, I
wanted to create a very intimate experience
for our clients,” says owner and stylist
Monica Dureen. “We want people –
women, men and children – to come
and feel extremely pampered and
relaxed, even if they’re only getting a
haircut. With our varied services and
expertise, we have all the elements here
to make for a rewarding visit.”
To that end, Monica and her staff offer
everything from hairstyling to facial
treatments, manicures, pedicures, waxing,
massage, cosmetic application and
tanning. Wedding and spa packages are
available and each month features a special
offer.
The stylists and estheticians at Elements
Salon & Spa use the finest professional
products, such as Redken, O.P.I.,
Nioxin, SpaRitual and Guinot. Monica
and her staff constantly update their
knowledge by attending professional
seminars.
“We offer the best in salon and spa
treatments,” says Monica. “As an example,
our esthetician, Nicole Brown, has
extensive training in the application of
the Hydradermie treatment from the
Guinot Institute in Paris. This involves
ionization of skin cells using mild electrotherapy
to get the effect of a non-surgical
facelift. The results are incredibly
visible. With one treatment you can
immediately see harsh lines and creases
eliminated. “It’s incredibly satisfying,”
she adds.
Also satisfying at Elements are the
reasonable prices. “We offer high-end
services, but our rates are extremely
competitive,” says Monica.
Word-of-mouth about the fantastic
customer service at Elements has caught
fire, bringing in new clients every day,
like Tina Caughey of Bracebridge.
“My mother told me about Elements
and how she was so thrilled with the
service,” she says, having foils and colour
done by stylist Amanda Placko. “She
highly recommended it to me so here I
am. The people are wonderful – I’ll definitely
be back.”
Returning customers is what Monica
is most proud of.
“We really try to build great relationships
with our clients,” she says. “We get
to know their personal likes and dislikes,
and knowing a bit about them makes it
easier to give them exactly what they
want. If I’m doing your hair, for instance,
and I know you’re going travelling, then
I can recommend a lovely pedicure to
show off on the beach as well.”
We can’t all escape to a warm beach
this winter, but a visit to this full service
salon and spa in downtown Bracebridge
will make us feel like we’re in another
world.
