REPLACE EXCUSES
WITH GOALS
As President Rita Davenport says, “Success is living life the way you
choose.” I thought my family was a success, until I found myself
becoming restless. I was spending more time in traffic and airports,
than with my family. I also knew I could not have more children, with
my demanding schedule. I love my job as a lobbyist and political
director, but I also wanted a life with my family.
I believe destiny is not a matter of chance; it is a matter of choice.
So when NVP Stacy Trigler suggested we build our own Arbonne
business, I jumped in. I trusted her. As an attorney, I knew she had
thoroughly researched the company. I had no idea Arbonne would
soon change my family’s life in more ways than just with the potential
for financial freedom.
In the beginning, my husband was skeptical. He did not think I had
the time, or that I could possibly make the kind of money I needed
by selling lipstick and lotion. Others commented, “What more could
you want?” I had completed graduate school, worked on presidential
campaigns, traveled the world, climbed the corporate ladder
and made a generous income. I married my college sweetheart,
who was also successful, we lived in a beautiful house and had a
precious little boy. That is the American dream, right? So why would
a busy, working mom like me carve out precious time to build an
Arbonne business on the side?
We can all relate to not having enough time, but that is exactly why
we need this business. How is that going to change if we do not do
something about it? For a season of my life, I had to give up the very
reason Why I am doing this business; nothing great in life happens
without sacrifice. Imagine how powerful it would be living your life
every day the way you want. Well, you can!
You can work this business full time or part time, but work it consistently.
My commitment to doing this business, no matter what, has helped
me keep my focus. I squeezed Arbonne into the nooks and crannies of
each day. I made calls in the car, in the grocery store, between appointments
and on vacation; I gave up watching TV and went to bed later. I
success strategy:
Know what you want
and then go after it.
did not view it as working harder, but working smarter. ERVP Scott
Sigler, M.D. plugged me into a proven system — schedule 6 to 10
Presentations, four “One-on-One” Presentations; listen to Arbonne Learn
& Burn audio trainings and utilize Arbonne University; attend meetings
and conferences, and spend time in self-development.
I went into massive activity and filled my calendar. I stepped outside
of my comfort zone, endured disappointments and had days when
it would have been easier to quit. No one gets to skip that step. The
good news is if you focus on your potential and not your limitations,
you will get through the hard part; then it is easy to be successful.
I believed in the business even more after Stacy promoted to RVP in
three months and after I attended ENVP Cecilia Stoll’s Nation meeting.
As Rita says, “You do not get into Arbonne, until Arbonne gets
into you.” Nine months later, we became a Region. Imagine this:
Your best friend hands you the keys to a white Mercedes-Benz by
participating in the Mercedes-Benz Cash Bonus Program. That is
exactly what happened to me.
I realize now there is a reason Why I am in Arbonne. It is about
more than great products and skin. It is about the person I am
becoming, and inspiring and helping others to achieve the lifestyle
they have dreamed of. Your dream may be to purchase a new
home, travel, start a college fund for your children, leave your job
or have more time to enjoy your family and life. The reality is everyone
can dream, but to succeed, you have to make it happen.
I would not be an RVP without the involvement of some incredible
people. To EAM Sherry Hwang: I am honored you chose to do this
business with us. I love your caring spirit in putting others first. To
AM Carolyn Jackson: The leadership you bring your team is priceless.
You are a gift in my life. To AM Julie Do: Your desire to help
others will reward you tenfold. You are so fun to work with. To DM
Tiffany Leto: Your can-do attitude will take you to the top. I cannot
wait to hand each of you your keys!
To our new business builders: Your commitment must match your
expectations. Dream big; work hard and overcome obstacles to
make it happen. Your incredible journey is just beginning.
To my husband, Bryan: While you were skeptical at first, you
always believed in me. I know it has not always been easy, but the
best is yet to come. I cannot wait to help you get your dream farm.
You are my one and only true love!
To my son, Bryce: You are a precious gift. You are my reason Why.
I love you forever and ever.
To my mother-in-law, Rosalind: Thank you for being my first Client,
making drop-offs, trekking to northern Virginia and so much more.
You have always believed in me and I am grateful you are in my life.
To ENVP Cecilia Stoll: Excellence is a state of mind put into action.
Excellence is what you bring to our organization. I am honored to
be a part of your Nation. To NVP Stacy Trigler: We had a vision
and you have blazed the trail for our team to go to the top. You
have brought such joy to my life and I am thankful to be on this journey
with you. To ERVP Dr. Scott Sigler: Thank you for painting the
big picture. You gave unselfishly and encouraged me beyond my
imagination. I am a better person because of you.
To those considering a future with Arbonne: Make your goals and
dreams bigger than your fears and excuses. Maybe good things
come to those who wait, but the best things come to those who seize
the moment and make it their own.
