IDC Herzliya ≤∞∞∏≠≤∞∞π IDC Herzliya Departments and Officials Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Yitzhak Oron, The dean of student affairs deals with a wide spectrum of general and personal problems that students might encounter and takes every action within his power to resolve them. The following matters, among others, fall under the dean’s jurisdiction: IDC Herzliya scholarships that are based on financial need; and assistance for students with learning disabilities and other special-needs groups such as new immigrants and students with physical disabilities. The dean also handles issues related to reserve duty (e.g. requests to shorten or postpone reserve duty) and oversees the department that assists students who perform reserve duty, the Psychological Counseling Service and the Study Skills Center. He also helps students deal with personal (non-academic) problems. In addition, he serves as a commissioner of student complaints, receiving and addressing any complaints students may want to make regarding any aspect of IDC Herzliya. You can contact by tel. 09-9527257 26 Departments and Officials Psychological Counseling Service IDC Herzliya’s Psychological Counseling Service is designed to promote the health and wellbeing of its students. It provides professional individual counseling services for academic and personal dilemmas, anxieties and distress. The service is provided free of charge. IDC Herzliya ≤∞∞∏≠≤∞∞π Career Development Center The Career Development Center (CDC) at IDC Herzliya aims to prepare students and alumni for the job market and provide them with the tools to find suitable employment both before and after they graduate. The CDC provides a variety of counseling, placement and informational services and organizes lectures, workshops and meetings with representatives of leading companies. Employment opportunities are advertised on the center’s website at www.idc.ac.il/career. The Study Skills Center The Study Skills Center strives to help students with learning disabilities and/or attention disorders to identify the specific characteristics of their disability and learn how to use their innate skills to strengthen their ability to learn. The center helps students acquire efficient study skills, which will improve their academic performance. These study skills include: reading efficiently; writing academic essays; coping with exams; time management; organizing academic assignments, and more. The center’s activities include personal sessions, lectures for students and faculty members on learning disabilities and attention disorders, and tutoring supervision for students with learning disabilities and attention disorders. To make an appointment, call tel. 09-9602872. IDC Herzliya Hillel House The Hillel House serves as a hub for Jewish cultural activities for Israeli and international students. It organizes cultural activities, concerts, excursions, holiday events and informal Jewish studies. The Hillel House at IDC Herzliya is a branch of Hillel – the Foundation for Jewish Campus Life, a large international organization that operates on university campuses and enables Jewish students to strengthen and celebrate their Jewish identity.
