Career Development Programs 26 Career Development Programs Medical Administrative Assistant Program $600 Students learn the support roles needed to make a medical facility work. With this knowledge, students will be competent to work in entry-level positions within a medical office. Students will have the opportunity to earn a Certified Medical Administrative Assistant certificate from the National Healthcareer Association. Career Development Programs Paramedic 18 months 900 hrs $8,600 This course includes all of the national standard objectives for the paramedic profession. There will be 500 hours in the classroom, 250 hours in clinical rotation and 150 hours of ride-along time with area Life Squads. Four County Career Center has applied for their National Accreditation through COAEMSP. The Four County Paramedic course remains fully accredited by the ODPS Division of EMS. RN to Paramedic $2,800 The RN to Paramedic Program was highly successful its inaugural year! We will be offering this specialized class again in the fall of 2012. Applicants must be a currently licensed RN and certified Basic EMT, both in the State of Ohio. If you are a RN but not currently a Basic EMT, we have your needs covered with our Basic EMT classes this year! Basic Telecommunications and Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) $385 each Four County Career Center is pleased to offer Basic Telecommunications and Emergency Medical Dispatch classes. Basic Telecommunications will teach the basics of being a 911 dispatcher, including communications technology, roles and responsibilities of the dispatcher, techniques in dispatch services and preparing for your career as a telecommunicator, as well as other vital information. In the Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) course, the participant will learn roles and responsibilities, getting the necessary information from the caller, anatomy and physiology for the EMD, types of calls and much more. Each course is approximately 40 hours. APCO curriculum will be taught by APCO Certified Instructors. Prerequisite: Basic Telecommunications for Emergency Medical Dispatch. Volunteer Firefighter Basic 40 hrs $550 Mandated training program for volunteer firefighters that includes selected standards from NFPA Standard 1001. Saturdays Start: 9/15 Classes held at the Jewell Fire Department 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Emergency Medical Responder 48 hrs $585 This course is for those agencies or individuals who are summoned first to the scene to assist until Emergency Medical Technicians arrive.
