Minutes of the Annual General Meeting of <strong>The</strong><br />

49 th Battalion, <strong>The</strong> Loyal Edmonton Regiment<br />

Association Held on October 15, 2011<br />

1. Attendance circulated<br />

2. Brendan Yuill (president) called the meeting<br />

to order at 1508 hrs followed by a Moment<br />

of Silence to remember fallen comrades.<br />

3. <strong>The</strong> acceptance of the minutes of the AGM<br />

in 2010 were read and moved by Lem<br />

Mundorf/ seconded by Murray Fearon.<br />

Carried.<br />

4. Business Arising from the minutes: We will<br />

start next year’s AGM at 1400 hrs as was<br />

discussed last year and not done this year.<br />

Reports:<br />

<strong>The</strong> Loyal Edmonton Regiment Association<br />

5. Financial Report: Terry Allison handed<br />

out copies of 2010 financial report to all<br />

in attendance and directed us through<br />

it. A letter of thanks was read from<br />

Operation Friendship , one of the charitable<br />

organizations we funded, showing<br />

appreciation for the financial assistance<br />

we gave to the inner city seniors. It was<br />

suggested that we put the Education<br />

Bursary form and info on the web site.<br />

6. Commanding Officer’s Report: L/Col<br />

Chodan mentioned the loss of one of our<br />

soldiers ,from C company , in Yellowknife in<br />

a plane crash. We are now involved in live<br />

fire exercises. Six of our members are being<br />

deployed to the U.K. Basic winter warfare<br />

training starts in November. <strong>The</strong>re are lots<br />

of opportunities for military experiences at<br />

this time.<br />

7. 49er Report: Hans Brink away at this time.<br />

Great comments on the latest issue. Always<br />

need more articles with pictures.<br />

8. Museum Report: Terry Allison mentioned<br />

that the new museum uniform is a golf shirt<br />

and vest with the museum emblem on them.<br />

<strong>The</strong> emblem brand is great advertising.<br />

“<strong>The</strong> Last 100 days of the First World War”<br />

exhibit is almost ready to open. Terry listed<br />

the museum volunteers and thanked them<br />

all.<br />

9. LERAC Report: <strong>The</strong> Loyal Edmonton<br />

Regiment Advisory Council represents the<br />

LER family with all members having an<br />

imput and a vote. <strong>The</strong>y administer the funds<br />

arising from the sale of Camp Harris.<br />

10. Membership Report: Lem Mundorf said<br />

that there are 187 current members on the<br />

active data base. Talk to your friends to get<br />

their memberships updated.<br />

11. Kit Shop Report: Ron Dmetruk passed out<br />

pictures of the new Regimental Coin and<br />

Sweetheart Broach. He passed around the<br />

new LER belt buckle for all to see.<br />

New Business:<br />

12. Election of Officers: Lem Mundorf moved<br />

that we accept the current slate of officers<br />

for the 2011 and 2012 year/ seconded by<br />

Roy Sundby. Carried.<br />

13. Adjournment was Moved at 1622 hrs by<br />

Warren Hall/seconded by Ted Howard.<br />

Carried.<br />
