College Bound—Creating and Implementing an Effective College Transition Program<br />

Adults completing ASE are typically reticent to take the required steps toward a college bound<br />
path. Burbank Adult School, in partnership with Glendale Community College, with a<br />
federally funded Per<strong>for</strong>mance (P2P) grant, is successfully providing a comprehensive and<br />
multifaceted college transition program <strong>for</strong> ASE students. Individualized student support and<br />
academic services using a ―case management‖ approach is the focus. Workshop participants<br />
will receive ideas and materials on how to <strong>for</strong>m a partnership with their local community<br />
college in order to create a bona fide college transition program at their adult school.<br />
