The Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur look so space
age – I love them. This was taken at night, when those
towers arguably look their best. I’ve used both reflection
and refraction to produce the image. I needed to make
the reflective surface by pouring water around the ball
on the wall it sat on. The photo uses a much closer crop
than some of the other photos in this series, but even at
such a close focal length, the towers are unmistakable.
This is an image that could be shown upside down and it
would still look “the right way up”.
