INDUSTRIAL CYCLE • Recycled materials - recovered after product use • Recovered materials - separated after disposal • The material cycle is a closed system with one input and one output; raw materials are obtained from the earth and waste is returned to the earth as landfill. • At steady state, INPUT = OUTPUT, i.e. material injected into the process equals material eventually disposed back to the environment as pollution and waste.
