Key Transport Projects 2000-2006
(I) National Roads
This programme adopts the policy objective of providing a high quality of service on the
strategic routes and of completing/substantially completing these routes by 2006 3 . All roads
are to be built to motorway/high quality dual carriageway standard and a minimum level of
service C (equivalent to minimum 60mph average interurban speed) would obtain from
construction time through to 2019 on these routes; higher levels of service would in practice
be commonly achieved.
