The more we study this gospel, the more we come to love it. John had thought about Jesus more than seventy years. Now he was near the end of his life. He wanted people to know what he knew about Jesus. He wanted people to know what Jesus said. He wanted people to know what he meant. This gospel is the work of John. But it is also the work of the Holy Spirit. We can learn what Jesus meant. John and the church at Ephesus wrote this so that we can understand and believe.
