PRINCIPLES AND CHEMICAL COMPOSITION<br />
iQ Lamina is a buffered, isotonic solution containing proprietary laminar flow stabilizers, bacteriostatic agents,<br />
fungicidal agents, and preservatives protected by a patent. It is used to hydrodynamically position the flow of<br />
specimen within the focal depth of the lens of the microscope and to ensure streamlined flow by rinsing and<br />
wetting all fluidic components<br />
Composition: An aqueous salt solution<br />
STORAGE / HANDLING CONDITIONS:<br />
• Store at 20˚ C to 28˚ C (68˚ F to 82.4˚ F)<br />
• If frozen, bring back to room temperature and use<br />
• Do not store in direct sunlight<br />
• iQ Lamina is stable for eighteen months from date of<br />
manufacture<br />
• Unused solution that remains in the original capped<br />
container is stable until the expiration date<br />
• Do not use solution after the expiration date<br />
TRAINING PREREQUISITE: iQ200 Service Engineer<br />
Training or iQ200 Product Training<br />
PROCEDURE:<br />
1. MATERIAL PROVIDED<br />
• iQ Lamina (REF 800-3102):<br />
4 X 7 liter bottles of Lamina per box<br />
iQ Lamina (REF 800-3236):<br />
2 X 7 liter bottles of Lamina per box<br />
• 1 – filter, 5 micron<br />
PRECAUTIONS<br />
• The iQ Lamina has been determined to be<br />
nonhazardous under the guidelines issued by<br />
OSHA in 29 CFR 1910. 1200(d). Appropriate<br />
precautions in the collection, handling, storage<br />
and disposal of specimens should be exercised<br />
accordingly<br />
• Wear all Personal Protective Equipment when<br />
working with the iQ200 Automated Urine Microscopy<br />
Analyzer. (Gloves, Lab Coat, Goggles)<br />
• Personal Precautions: Avoid skin and eye contact.<br />
Use good laboratory procedures<br />
• Spill and Leak Procedures: No special hazards<br />
determined<br />
• Environmental Precautions: Absorb into inert solid<br />
or dilute with a large quantity of water and flush into<br />
a wastewater treatment system. Comply with all applicable<br />
legal regulations<br />
