CCAD’s most recent policies and statistics are available online at

or through the Dean of Student’s Office. The College’s Crime Log is available in
the Safety and Security Office.
D. Fire Safety Policies, Statistics, and Log (On-Campus Housing Facilities):
Fire safety policies for the residence halls are contained in the residential section
of the Student Handbook, available online at http://www.ccad.edu/ccadcampus/student-handbook
and available in printed form to each student, faculty,
and staff member annually. CCAD will begin issuing an annual fire safety report
and log by October 1 of each year, starting with 2010, that pertains to its oncampus
residence halls.
E. Inclusion of New Hate Crimes Categories:
CCAD continues to comply fully with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus
Security Policy and Campus Crimes Statistics Act. Internal reporting documents
and protocols have been updated to include the additional “hate crimes”
categories of larceny/theft, simple assault, intimidation,
destruction/damage/vandalism to property. Information about campus safety and
security (including the aforementioned new hate crimes categories) will appear in
the 2010 version of the Campus Security Act Report (available online by October
2011 at http://www.ccad.edu/college-services/safety-security/campus-securityact-report).
As required by law, CCAD annually produces and makes available
our Campus Security Act Report to keep the college community informed.
F. Coordination with Law Enforcement:
CCAD encourages community members to report crimes or suspicious activity
promptly to the Security Office. In response to a call, the Security Office will
take the required action to include summoning appropriate personnel or notifying
the appropriate law enforcement agency. CCAD’s Director of Safety & Security
will investigate reports of criminal activity and will refer reports of crimes as
required by law for investigation or prosecution by the Columbus Police
Department (CPD). Additional information about campus safety and security

G. Disclosure of Disciplinary Proceedings:
The CCAD Student Code of Conduct describes our disciplinary procedures,
including disclosure of records. The Assistant Dean of Students maintains a
record of all student conduct proceedings. Beginning in July 2010, the Student
Code of Conduct was amended to allow for notification of an alleged victim’s
next of kin upon written request and when the circumstances and law require it
(for proceedings pertaining to crimes of violence or nonforcible sex offenses and
when the alleged victim is deceased).
