This course introduces students
to the content of psychological
knowledge concerning the
distinctive characteristics of
Chinese behaviour. The whole
range of behaviour from
perception through cognition to
personality and social processes
such as conflict resolution will
be covered. As the content is
comparative, consideration will
be given to the methodology
necessary to make cross-cultural
comparisons. This input will be
important for helping to
distinguish the behaviour of
Chinese people in different
political-economic contexts
(e.g., Singapore, Britain).
本 科 旨 在 向 學 生 介 紹 有 關 研
討 中 國 人 行 為 之 獨 特 性 所 需
的 心 理 學 知 識 。 所 謂 行 為 涵 蓋
之 範 疇 甚 廣 , 包 括 知 覺 、 認
知 、 人 格 及 社 會 層 的 互 動 過 程

This course deals with both
conceptual and practical issues
in interpersonal communication.
Both verbal and non-verbal
communication modes will be
discussed in two major domains:
interpersonal relationships,
including friendships, romantic
relationships, and family
communication patterns; as well
as communication in the
workplace, focusing on effective
negotiation, management, and
presentation skills. In each of
these domains, students will be
exposed to research on how
communication modes vary as a
function of factors such as
gender, culture, and social status,
as well as learning how to
examine their own and others’
communication styles.

本 科 旨 在 介 紹 有 關 人 際 溝 通
方 面 的 理 論 及 其 應 用 , 內 容 包
括 語 言 及 非 語 言 溝 通 模 式 在
人 際 關 係 ( 如 友 情 、 愛 情 及 家
庭 生 活 ) 及 工 作 場 所 ( 如 談
判 、 管 理 及 報 告 技 巧 ) 的 運
