Sports Report—Mr Jason Cudby<br />

There is a lot of sporting happenings going on at the moment<br />

at <strong>Riverside</strong>.<br />

Last Friday we had the Junior Athletics Carnival and as the<br />

photo’s show it was a fantastic day with all students<br />

participating and having a great time.<br />

Overall Age Champions for the 10, 11 and 12 year olds were as<br />

follows:<br />

10yr Female: Courtney Robinson (64 Points)<br />

10yr Male: Finley Crosswell (56 Points)<br />

11yr Female: Perth Bradford (62 Points)<br />

11yr Male: Luke Radburn (54 Points)<br />

12yr Female: Tylaina Mackay (48 Points)<br />

12yr Male: Lorenzo Rosier (42 Points)<br />

Next Friday is the Maryborough Zone Athletics Carnival and<br />

the following 10,11 and 12 year olds will be off to compete at<br />

the next level. Wish them luck!<br />

Stevenson, Lloyd Braithwaite, Jade Cotter, Tylaina Mackay,<br />

Lara Pietzsch, Taliah Ryan, Skye Ledbury, Madison Sheppard.<br />

David Perry travelled all the way to Cairns to represent the<br />

school at the Primary School State Cross Country<br />

Championships. After training really hard all term he ran very<br />

well and managed to gain 42 nd place, which is a fantastic effort<br />

against the top runners in the state.<br />

Phillipa Allanson and Emily Rockemer also competed at the<br />

Secondary State Cross Country Championships in Buderim last<br />

term and both performed very well and were placed in the<br />

middle of the field.<br />

Students are gearing up and training hard in<br />

preparation to the annual Technology Challenge.<br />

<strong>Riverside</strong> has 5 Teams competing this year and we<br />

Basketball<br />

Joseph Dodd (<strong>Riverside</strong> <strong>Christian</strong> <strong>College</strong>), Shaun Mitchell<br />

(Urangan State High School), and Dylan Mallam (Aldridge State<br />

High School) helped Wide Bay claim sweet revenge for last<br />

year's grand final loss by downing Metropolitan East 2‐1 in the<br />

decider in Brisbane.<br />

If anyone has any news regarding any of our students and any<br />

sporting achievements they may have gained outside of<br />

school please let us know so we can pass on the great news to<br />

everyone else.<br />

Next Wednesday is the secondary school (Year 8‐12) Athletics<br />

Carnival so we will be looking forward to another fun day of<br />

sporting activities and achievements.<br />

THREE Fraser Coast softballers were part of history<br />

recently as Wide Bay won its first ever Queensland<br />

school 19‐years‐under boys softball title.<br />
