Sports Report—Mr Jason Cudby
There is a lot of sporting happenings going on at the moment
at Riverside.
Last Friday we had the Junior Athletics Carnival and as the
photo’s show it was a fantastic day with all students
participating and having a great time.
Overall Age Champions for the 10, 11 and 12 year olds were as
follows:
10yr Female: Courtney Robinson (64 Points)
10yr Male: Finley Crosswell (56 Points)
11yr Female: Perth Bradford (62 Points)
11yr Male: Luke Radburn (54 Points)
12yr Female: Tylaina Mackay (48 Points)
12yr Male: Lorenzo Rosier (42 Points)
Next Friday is the Maryborough Zone Athletics Carnival and
the following 10,11 and 12 year olds will be off to compete at
the next level. Wish them luck!

12yrs Daniel Hoodcamp, Lachlan Ashford, Macauley
Cameron‐Lewis, Lorenzo Rosier, Dustin Hadden, Blake
Stevenson, Lloyd Braithwaite, Jade Cotter, Tylaina Mackay,
Lara Pietzsch, Taliah Ryan, Skye Ledbury, Madison Sheppard.
David Perry travelled all the way to Cairns to represent the
school at the Primary School State Cross Country
Championships. After training really hard all term he ran very
well and managed to gain 42 nd place, which is a fantastic effort
against the top runners in the state.
Phillipa Allanson and Emily Rockemer also competed at the
Secondary State Cross Country Championships in Buderim last
term and both performed very well and were placed in the
middle of the field.
On June 23, Callum
Perrotta‐O’Sullivan was
awarded the prestigious
Pierre de Coubertin
Award for his sporting
achievements and
demonstration of those
endeavours which are
consistent with the aims
of the Olympic
movement.

HPV Just around the corner ...
Students are gearing up and training hard in
preparation to the annual Technology Challenge.
Riverside has 5 Teams competing this year and we
are proud to announce that we have some fantastic

Softball
Basketball
Joseph Dodd (Riverside Christian College), Shaun Mitchell
(Urangan State High School), and Dylan Mallam (Aldridge State
High School) helped Wide Bay claim sweet revenge for last
year's grand final loss by downing Metropolitan East 2‐1 in the
decider in Brisbane.
If anyone has any news regarding any of our students and any
sporting achievements they may have gained outside of
school please let us know so we can pass on the great news to
everyone else.
Next Wednesday is the secondary school (Year 8‐12) Athletics
Carnival so we will be looking forward to another fun day of
sporting activities and achievements.
THREE Fraser Coast softballers were part of history
recently as Wide Bay won its first ever Queensland
school 19‐years‐under boys softball title.
