The Marquis Scicluna’s ‘Cisk’ Brewery, Mriehel, Malta, an Imperial Great West Road type commercial/industrial building, interpreted in stone, responding a little to its environmental context and to the Maltese architectural continuum.
The brewery used open fermentation baths, designed in the 1930’s, the standard mid century design around the globe. The entire space was chilled to 7- 8 deg C. The enclosure was a mere 100mm of uninsulated mass concrete.
