That’s the SISterhood 2012 Major Fundraising Event where the speaker will be Emily Giffin, New York Times best-selling author of Something Borrowed, Something Blue, Love the One You’re With, and her new book, Where We Belong. MITZVAH-A-MEETING IS NOW MITZVAH-A-MONTH! This year, look for our new SISterhood MITZVAH-A-MONTH, where each and every SISterhood member is invited to join us in Tikkun Olam projects. Collection bins are at the synagogue throughout the month, so please swing by the synagogue each month to donate. Board meetings (dates subject to change): If you regularly attend board meetings, please bring your mitzvah-a-month item to the board meeting. Some months the board meeting will have a separate mitzvah activity which are noted in parenthesis after the board meeting date. September • Food Pantry collections for JFS. LIFECYCLES A Special Mazel Tov Jack Topletz: 100 Years Young Jack M. Topletz is the fifth of six children of immigrant parents, Solomon and Rebecca Topletz. His parents moved from Garreson, TX to Dallas in 1907 in order to provide their children a better secular and religious education. Jack was born July 30, 1912. He attended Forest Ave High School and completed his education in 1935 graduating from University of Texas Law School. Jack was a pilot in World War II and served in the African Theater. Jack has been an active member of Shearith Israel since 1957. He is the father of 4 adopted daughters and has 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Today, he is still active in his real estate business. Happy Birthday.
