How has your production process evolved
during the years?
We migrated from typographic printing in
the 1960s to offset printing in the 1970s. In the
’80s we added web-printing capabilities and in
the ’90s and early 2000s we finally acquired
five- and six-color 700 x 1,000-mm modern
offset presses. In the last few years we’ve also
been using seven-color HP Indigo presses, and
more recently we upgraded to Komori’s new
H-UV technology.
We always wanted to be in a leading
position in graphical arts. We believe from a
technological perspective that our press lineup
today features a unique mix of capabilities in
the market.
At our 12,000-square-meter plant in Nepi,
near Viterbo, we are now operating a full
production cycle from prepress to binding and
logistics/delivery. Thanks to steady business
growth, our turnover is now split between
Italian (80 percent), European (15 percent)
and other international (5 percent) clients.
We specialize in varied fields such as finance,
telecommunications, utilities, publishing,
marketing and automotive.
What benefits does H-UV technology bring to your
production process? What types of applications is it ideal for?
It’s innovative — using only one lamp per side, very reliable,
user-friendly, cost-effective and, most important, it provides
a superior printing quality. It’s not directed toward specific
printing applications. In fact, it’s ideal for all types of jobs that
need flexibility and high turnover speed. However, if we had
to say where it satisfies us most, it is with plastic substrates and
special and natural paper. The results are really impressive —
the color seems to ‘float’ off the sheet.
Are there any new projects on the horizon?
We’ve invested a lot in plant innovation, production integration
and personnel training. These are three very important
elements of our entrepreneurship and of our goal of obtaining
great results and client recognition. And considering that the
Internet has changed the world so much, we will continue to
pursue a competitive online commercial strategy.
What particular recognition has the company
received from the market?
Without any doubt respect for our
professionalism and trust in the quality of our
product. Our state-of-the-art press lineup
alone would not be sufficient if it were not
for our highly skilled staff, and it’s thanks to
them that we are able to provide high quality
and beautifully finished printed products.
Everything here is done by continuously
monitoring the production process. Plus, our
staff is always engaged in updating their skills
and implementing the latest techniques.
Why did you choose to install the Lithrone
GL-840P with H-UV? What are the main
factors behind this choice?
We chose to install the new Komori eight-color
offset press after comparing its technology with
competitive machines. Ultimately we were
convinced by the technological innovations
of this machine. Not to mention, it perfectly
suits our production strategies: the best print
quality, lower operating costs and shorter
printing times. Also, Komori’s installation team
provided us with a smooth press setup and
very professional support.
