Delft (Dutch Art) made all the running, quickening clear
to win eased down on her second start. She is the first foal
of her dam Plucky (Kyllachy), who won at three and is a
half-sister to the Gr.2 Flying Childers Stakes winner
Wunders Dream (Averti) and the Gr.3 Ridgewood Pearl
Stakes winner Grecian Dancer (Dansili). Their dam
Pizzicato (Statoblest) won twice and is a half-sister to
the Honk Kong Champion Industrialist also known as
Mensa (Rudimentary) and the Gr.3 Chipchase Stakes
winner and leading Hong Kong performer Volata also
known as Firebolt (Flying Spur).
Plucky has a yearling filly by Medicean, named
Equinox (7,500gns Tattersalls December Foal Sale by Guy
Stephenson and £16,500 2011 DBS Autumn HIT and
Yearling Sale by Bryan Smart), a colt foal by Nayef and
visited Paco Boy this year.

Martine’s Spirit (Invincible Spirit) took the lead over two
furlongs out and, though edging right in the closing
stages, won easily on her fifth start. She is a half-sister to
the dual Listed winner My Renee (Kris S; dam of the dual
Gr.2 winner and dual Gr.1-placed Banimpire, who was
sold for 2,300,000gns at Goffs November Sale last month),
and is the seventh foal of her dam Mayenne (Nureyev).
She was unraced but is a half-sister to the dual Gr.1
winner and sire Carnegie (Sadler’s Wells), the ill-fated
Gr.2 Prix Guillaume d’Ornano winner Antisaar (Northern
Dancer), the Gr.3 St Simon Stakes winner Lake Erie
(Kings Lake) and the Listed Prix Michel Houyvet winner
Honfleur (Sadler’s Wells), as well as the triple Gr.3 winner
and sire Wayne County (Sadler’s Wells). Their dam
Detroit (Riverman) was the Champion Three-Year-Old
Filly in Europe in 1980.
Mayenne has a yearling filly by Marju (€260,000gns
Goffs Orby Sale by Shadwell Estate Company), a filly foal
by Teofilo and visited Echo Of Light, who was bred by
Kilcarn Stud, this year.

The light weight Saetta Star (Danroad) set a decent pace
and scored easily on his first attempt in handicap
company. His dam Classic Silili (Be My Guest) has had
just one moderate winner from four previous foals. The
second dam Yes Please (Mount Hagen) recorded two
wins and had three winners from nine foals. One of them,
Assertion (Assert) landed a maiden in June at The
Curragh and was third 14 days after in the Gr.1 Irish Oaks.
Moved to Japan, she proved herself a classy broodmare,
foaling the Gr.3 winner Promotion (Hector Protector),
who subsequently foaled Admire Main (Sunday
Silence), a winner at Gr.2 level, second in the Japanese
Derby and now a sire in South Africa. Another of
Promotion’s winning daughters, J’S Jewelry (Real
Shadai) became a top broodmare, producing Admire
Jupiter (French Deputy), winner of the Gr.1 Tenno Sho
Spring.

Gr.3 Premio Omenoni for the late Armando Renzoni and
scored at Listed level when moved to Dermot Weld’s yard
in Ireland. He now stands at a fee of €2,500 at Sweep
Lane Stud and his first foals are expected in 2012. Their
dam Rinass (Indian Rdge) also foaled the three-year-old
filly Pocket A Pound (Azamour), who was Listed-placed
