Fabulous Female
Please consider my entry for my fabulous
friend, Faye Browder. I met Faye through a
mutual friend about 15 years ago. Faye is enjoying
her second marriage to a wonderful man
who’s brought his three grown children and
their families into her close-knit family. “Fabulous”
is the best word to describe Faye Browder
as a person, a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a
stepmother, and – as I know from personal
experience – the most fabulous friend possible!
At age 69, she’s a dynamo! I’m just one of
her many friends for whom she has “worked
her magic” over the years. One example of
just how far she’ll go for friendship is when I
purchased a condo at the beach to enjoy my
retirement (right before the housing market hit
bottom). Almost immediately, it was discovered
that a major leak under the floor had ruined
the carpet, the walls and both bathrooms and
caused mold and mildew. At the same time, I
became ill and also had a major illness in my
family so there was no way that I could take
care of the many issues involved. Faye took over
the project entirely herself, going to the area,
making appointments, meeting with the various
repairmen, dealing with the many homeowners
association issues, and picking out new
carpet and cabinets to replace the ones that
were ruined. How many friends like that are
most people blessed with?
To summarize Faye’s many attributes: she
lives life fully; is a beautiful woman inside and
out; she’s happy, energetic, very positive and the

Congratulations to Faye Browder of south Charlotte,
whose friend Barbara Darden, submitted the following entry:
most unselfish person I know, who will go to
any length to do for others! She’s the first person
to give hands-on help when you’re moving
and be there with her wonderful banana bread
when you need cheering. Faye stays fit, eats
healthy food and makes sure her husband does,
too, because she wants to keep him around for
a long time. She’s the biggest supporter for her
husband, two children, three grandchildren,
and, most recently, three stepchildren and their
families as well as her many friends.
By the way, Faye is also very fashion conscious
and especially loves shoes. She has quite
a collection of miniature shoes of all kinds in a
curio cabinet at home, some of which have been
handed down to her from past generations. Faye
Browder, my fabulous friend, is most deserving
of being recognized with the Via Veneto gift card
and she would absolutely love it. q
