Control Panel Display There are two types of screens: Print screen (for displaying printer status) and Menu screen (for configuring settings). Note • The message displayed differs according to the optional accessories installed and the setting specified. Print Screen The Print screen appears when the printer is printing or waiting for data. Below is an example of items shown on the display. Printer status Printing LPD Tray 1 Port for receiving data Feeding tray Menu Screen Screen for configuring settings related to the printer. This screen appears when you press the button. The following display is the initial Menu screen. 2.2 Turning On and Off the Printer Turning On the Printer 1. Press the power switch of the printer to the position. 2. When the power is on, [Please wait...] is displayed on the control panel. Check that this display changes to [Ready to Print]. Important • The [Please wait...] message indicates the printer is warming up and not ready to print. • If an error message appears, refer to"6.6 Error Messages (In Alphabetical Order)" (P. 118) for a solution. Turning Off the Printer Important • Do not turn off the printer while printing is in progress. Doing so may cause a paper jam. • Do not turn off the printer when any print jobs remain in the printer. Doing so will deletes the print jobs or other data stored in memory. 1. On the control panel display, confirm that no job is in progress. Ready to Print 2.
