BILLI huwa pprovdut bl-artikolu 49 <strong>tal</strong>-Kostituzzjoni<br />
ta’ <strong>Malta</strong> illi kull meta d-detentur <strong>tal</strong>-kariga ta’ President<br />
ikun assenti minn <strong>Malta</strong> l-funzjonijiet mogħtija lilu blimsemmija<br />
Kostituzzjoni għandhom jiġu moqdija minn dik<br />
il-persuna li l-Prim Ministru, wara konsultazzjoni mal-Kap<br />
<strong>tal</strong>-Oppożizzjoni, jista’ jaħtar;<br />
WHEREAS it is provided by section 49 of the<br />
Constitution of <strong>Malta</strong> that whenever the holder of the office<br />
of President is absent from <strong>Malta</strong> the functions conferred upon<br />
him by the said Constitution shall be performed by such person<br />
as the Prime Minister, after consultation with the Leader of<br />
the Opposition, may appoint;<br />

AND WHEREAS the President is absent from <strong>Malta</strong>;<br />
U BILLI fis-26 ta’ Novembru, 2009, il-Prim Ministru<br />
ħatarni Aġent President għal matul iż-żmien li fih il-President<br />
ikun assenti minn <strong>Malta</strong>;<br />
AND WHEREAS on the 26th day of November, 2009,<br />
the Prime Minister appointed me Acting President for such<br />
time as the President is absent from <strong>Malta</strong>;<br />
U BILLI jiena ħadt u ffirmajt kif imiss il-ġurament<br />
<strong>tal</strong>-kariga kif preskritt bl-artikolu 50 <strong>tal</strong>-imsemmija<br />
Kostituzzjoni;<br />
AND WHEREAS I have duly taken and subscribed<br />
the oath of office as prescribed by section 50 of the said<br />
Constitution;<br />
ISSA, GĦALHEKK, JIENA, ANTON TABONE,<br />
qiegħed hawnhekk navża u nipproklama li assumejt illum<br />
skont l-imsemmija Kostituzzjoni l-funzjonijiet ta’ President<br />
ta’ <strong>Malta</strong>.<br />
NOW, THEREFORE, I, ANTON TABONE, do hereby<br />
notify and proclaim that I have this day under the said<br />
Constitution assumed the functions of President of <strong>Malta</strong>.<br />
