Seniors
Seniors may seek approval from the dean of the Senior Class and their faculty advisor for an exemption
from one term of the school’s extracurricular program. Seniors not involved in the regular
athletic, art, or volunteer program must have their projects approved in writing and must submit a
detailed written proposal of their plan to both the dean of the Senior Class and their advisor by a
predetermined date. Exemptions may be granted to students who need time for special projects that
benefit both themselves and the larger school community.
Upper Middlers
Uppermids may seek approval from their class dean and their faculty advisor for an exemption
from one term of exercise. Exemptions may be granted for ISP, managing, stage crew, theater, video
assistant or volunteer work.
In some instances, the uppermid class dean and the advisor may grant exemptions from exercise
for more than one term if the experience seems to be one that will be more worthwhile for the individual
student than participation in the intramural exercise program. In all instances, the dean will
have an overview of each student’s participation in athletic and extracurricular activities that qualify
for exemption.
Middlers
Mids may seek approval from their class dean and their faculty advisor for an exemption from one
term of exercise; in rare cases involving special circumstances, mids may request permission from
their class dean to audition for a second play. Such permission should be sought before the auditions.
Exemptions may be granted for managing, stage crew, theater, video assistant or volunteer work.
Lower Middlers
Lowermids may seek approval from their class dean and their faculty advisor for an exemption for
either the Winter or Spring term. Exemptions may be granted for managing, video assistant, theater
productions or volunteer work.
