Oxford House is a concept in recovery
from drug and alcohol addiction. In its
simplest form, an Oxford House is a
democratically run, self-supporting and
drug-free home. The number of residents
in a House ranges from six to fifteen.
The publicly supported, nonprofit
501(c)(3) corporation is the national
umbrella organization which provides a
network connecting all Oxford Houses
in the U.S.
Residents of Oxford Houses, in recovery
from alcohol and drug addiction,
pay rent and share expenses in
a democratically run group home.
There are more than 20 Oxford
Houses in the State of Delaware.

choice to help people find their path to
growth and independence. To this end,
People’s Place will identify the
social/mental health needs of Delaware
residents and facilitate the provision of
services to address those needs.
Safe haven for immigrant women who
are victims/survivors of domestic violence
and their children. Provides shelter,
case management referral, court
advocacy and support to Latino, non-
English speaking women of Kent and
Sussex Counties.
Center for Community Justice: Provides
victim-offender mediation for
non-violent offenses referred by the
justice system as well as community
mediation services such as landlordtenant
disputes, employer-employee
disputes and parent-child disputes.
