To ensure that Truman continues its tradition of offering a quality education, Truman is seeking to increase private giving through this campaign. “To ensure the bright futures for our students, private support is needed more than ever,” said Steve Rose, a member of the Class of 1969 and president of the Truman State University Foundation Board. “To provide the excellence Truman has become known for, we need your help.” The “Bright Minds Bright Futures” campaign is the largest fundraising effort in the history of Truman, and the public phase of the campaign was announced during Homecoming 2009. With a focus on students, the campaign is seeking to secure funding for student scholarships, academic and enrichment programs, support for faculty, and athletics. Throughout 2010, campaign volunteers have been hosting regional campaign events so that alumni and friends all around the country have an opportunity to become involved in this historymaking campaign. In the coming months, alumni and friends can play a role in helping Truman achieve the $30 million goal set forth in the “Bright Minds Bright Futures” campaign.
