At this time of year you’ll enjoy a fairytale land of Snow-covered villages, regional festivities and<br />
brightly lit Christmas trees. The busy tourist months have ended, there is a greater connection<br />
to the people of the towns and villages, and you’ll be able to enjoy all our included sightseeing<br />
without the crowds. Now you will fi nd yourself amidst dazzling displays and festive activities<br />
as a transformed Europe celebrates this special time of year. You’ll delight in the six Christmas<br />
Markets of Cologne, the most spectacular of which you’ll fi nd in front of the Magnifi cently<br />
imposing Cologne Cathedral. And those in Nuremburg that are Germany’s most famous:<br />
dating back to 1628 they are opened each year by Christkindl. Then there’s the glittering<br />
“Christkindlmarkt” on the square in front of City Hall in Vienna and many more.<br />
Christmas and New Year in Europe<br />
Our cruises sail from Amsterdam to the most picturesque towns and villages on the Rhine,<br />
Main and Danube rivers. On board and ashore we’ll celebrate Christmas and New Year<br />
with you in style. In Amsterdam, the Captain will welcome you aboard with a cocktail party<br />
and dinner. On Christmas Eve your Cruise Director will lead you in carols before dinner:<br />
you’ll fi nd yourself getting into the spirit with your fellow guests for an unforgettable evening.<br />
On Christmas Day you’ll be treated to a sumptuous Christmas lunch with all the traditional<br />
trimmings. Have a very happy New Year! New Year’s Eve revelry begins with the Captain’s<br />
gala dinner followed by celebrations that will continue into the night with music and dancing.<br />
