If you ever played pool or have always been
interested in trying, the men and women of
Billiards Club are your club! We are organized
to help resharpen and improve your game or
teach you how to play from scratch.
Club Structure: Regular competitive club play
involves five different member flights, handicapped by ability. You only
play against members with similar level of skills. New members can be
immediately evaluated for competitive play.
There is also a social flight for those who simply want to informally play
to improve their game, meet new people and have fun.
Tournaments: Daily 8-Ball tournaments are played at 1:00 pm on
Monday through Friday and Women Only tournaments are held each
Saturday beginning at 10:00 am. All tournaments are held in the billiards
room located inside the Independence Center.
Membership: All Sun City Anthem Community
Association members are welcome and encouraged to join
our club. If you are interested in joining, call Club
President Rex Weddle at 407-8342 or 496-5901 or visit
the Billiards Room in the Independence Center and any
member can assist you.
Lessons: Free lessons are available to new and prospective
members by contacting Garth Clifford at 616-7301 or
Club President Rex Weddle.
Events: Mark your calendars for Saturday October 18,
2008. Why? This is the date of the Club’s Oktoberfest for
2008. This event is always well received and fun. There are
activities, tournaments, camaraderie, and good food, so
don’t be left behind the eight ball. Plan to attend, details
to follow.
The next quarterly meeting will be on August 15 at
1:00 p.m. in the Penn Room of the Independence Center.
