Call BACOA for Medicare D advice<br />
The <strong>Barrington</strong> Area Council on Aging is scheduling<br />
Medicare Part D consultation appointments through<br />
Thursday, December 6th.<br />
The annual open enrollment period for Medicare runs<br />
through December 31st. Enrollees can switch their Medicare<br />
Part D plan or enroll in a plan for the first time.<br />
If you are currently in a Medicare Part D plan, the company<br />
must send an “Annual Notice of Change” to its members. This<br />
has information about changes for 2013. Among the things to<br />
look for:<br />
How much will the premium be in 2013?<br />
How much will the deductible be?<br />
Are the enrollee’s drugs still covered?<br />
If enrollees are satisfied with the changes to their plan, they<br />
do not have to do anything; the plan will automatically renew<br />
January 1st.<br />
For those who want to enroll, review or change their plan, call<br />
BACOA at 847-381-5030 to schedule a consultation.<br />
Learn more: BACOA’s program coordinator, Linda Avellon,<br />
will be available to discuss BACOA on the first Tuesday of<br />
each month, at noon, following the Arthritis Foundation<br />
Exercise Class at the LBS Rec Center. The class is sponsored<br />
by BACOA and the Neighbor Helping Neighbor program.<br />
Yoga Classes<br />
Tuesday 9–10:15am<br />
Light Yoga—A series of yoga poses and breathing<br />
exercises designed and adapted for a tranquil,<br />
relaxing yoga experience for all levels. In this class<br />
we take a gentle approach to yoga postures<br />
and have fun while improving flexibility,<br />
strength and balance.<br />
Monday 5–6:15pm<br />
Thursday 5–6:15pm<br />
Advanced Beginner—Intermediate classes:<br />
The classes incorporate a series of yoga poses and<br />
breathing exercises providing a more physical<br />
program moving from pose to pose while still<br />
focusing on posture and alignment. This class<br />
requires weight bearing poses and builds<br />
strength, endurance, flexibility and balance.<br />
Cost: $50 per 6 week session<br />
or drop in for $10 per class.<br />
