GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS<br />

This Ford Truck Master Parts Catalog contains parts illustrations for truck series E 100/350, F 1 00/350, F53-Stripped<br />

Chassis (Motor Home), F59-Stripped Chassis (Commercial), F (Super Duty) and U150 as well as the Aerostar (A­<br />

Series), Bronco II (B-Series) and the Ranger (R-Series) for model years 19801 for U.S. and Canadian built vehicles.<br />

Use this Illustration Catalog in conjunction with the Text Catalog, Form FPS 8472-A.<br />

For greater convenience this catalog is divided into specific sections, such as brakes, front suspension, engine,<br />

transmission, etc. For example, FRONT SUSPENSION appears in Section 30, STEERING in Section 36, REAR AXLE in<br />

Section 40, etc.<br />

A separate catalog which contains the text or descriptive information for the same model years is available as Form<br />

FPS 8472-A. The Text Catalog is divided into sections also and like parts are shown under similar section numbers in<br />

both the Text and Illustration Catalogs.<br />

A listing of Ford 9roup numbers and their related section numbers appears in the General Information Section of the<br />

text catalog, Form FPS 8472-A.<br />

Illustrations contain group numbers only, therefore, it is necessary to refer to the group within the text catalog listing for<br />

<strong>com</strong>plete applicable part number.<br />

The various parts illustrated in this publication (FPS 8472-B) are drawn for multiple vehicle applications and<br />

therefore "typical" to the actual part(s) they represent. Consequently, exact detail, measurements and<br />

configurations of the actual part cannot be shown for each illustration printed.<br />

Refer to the various SHOP MANUAL type of publications for part removal, specifications, torque and replacement<br />

procedures.<br />

The driver's side is the left hand side of the vehicle a'id determines whether such parts as fenders, lamps, etc. are<br />

right or left hand.<br />

Model year application is indicated by showing the first year followed by a diagonal line to indicate continued usage in<br />

all subsequent years until the insertion of the last year of usage, which is shown after the diagonal line. If no diagonal<br />

line is shown, the part is applicable only to the year shown.<br />

determine the series listed in this catalog. Model application is often consolidated as shown below:<br />

Example: F100/350 means F100 thru F350 or F100, F150, F250 and F350, etc.<br />
