GRIP (Grandparents Returning Into Parenting)<br />
Help any and all grandparents that have legal custody or guardianship <strong>of</strong> grandchildren. The grandchildren must be<br />
residing in the home with them. GRIP works with all social services to help grandparents get what they need in order to<br />
succeed in their parental role, i.e. food, health services, clothing, school supplies, holiday assistance etc. Also has<br />
support groups for grandparents parenting their grandchildren. Attempting to help grandparent's who have had to take in<br />
their children's children.<br />

The Guardian ad Litem Program is a partnership <strong>of</strong> community advocates and pr<strong>of</strong>essional staff providing a powerful<br />
voice on behalf <strong>of</strong> abused and neglected children in or community. Program volunteers and staff provide a much needed<br />
voice for children involved in court proceedings initiated by the Department <strong>of</strong> Children and Families. The Guardian ad<br />
Litem Program is always looking for new volunteers.<br />

Gulf Coast Community Care's (GCCC) Alternate Family Program (AFP) provides supported housing to approved adult<br />
(18 year +) psychiatric clients, both civil and forensic. Housing is provided through contractual relationships with<br />
caregivers licensed as Adult Family Care Homes (AFCH) by the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA).<br />
These homes are private homes integrated into the community that permit living arrangements for up to five (5) unrelated<br />
persons. Most clients are also enrolled with or eligible for enrollment with the Florida Assertive Community Treatment<br />
(FACT) Teams in their respective counties. In addition, GCCC provides independent supported housing for psychiatric<br />
adults, both men and women, who are higher functioning and can live more on their own. GCCC also provides<br />
assistance with Social Security Disability claims, both initial and appeallete stages. One <strong>of</strong> the staff is also a nationally<br />
trained SSI/SSDI Outreach Access and Recovery (SOAR) trainer.
