COURSE DESCRIPTION
A major instrument for economic development is revenue. The
mobilization, management and the end use to which it is put, combine
to accelerate economic growth and development, or in the contrary, it
leads to economic stagnation and poverty.
In view of the poor economic position of state and local governments,
coupled with the lack of corresponding increase in Federal Government
allocations, generating revenue and efficient tax administration should
become the focus of State and Local Governments in order to meet the
growing cost of public expenditure and survival of states.
Much is definitely expected from administrators and revenue generation
officers. It is therefore, imperative for officers saddled with such
responsibilities to be thorough and exact in their jobs. It is for this
reason that relevant knowledge and skills are prerequisite. This
