Prof Helena Nevalainen, brief biography FUNGAL BIOTECHNOLOGIST Research interests include molecular biology and functional proteomics of biotechnologically important filamentous fungi, in particular the industrially-exploited Trichoderma reesei. T. reesei offers a powerful cell factory for efficient expression of valuable gene products for various industrial and pharmaceutical applications. Other research interests feature fungal proteomics, biological control and molecular prospecting of the environment for novel bioactivities.
