Time Life will move imo feature films with
LOVING COUPLES, starring Shirlej
MacLaine and James Coburn in a comedy
about a husband and wife involved in ex
tramantal affairs. Shooting will begin July 30
on a 10 week schedule on Southern California
locations. Remee Valente is producing; Jack
Smith will be the director. David Susskind will
be executive producer.
FREEZING DOWN will
begin filming in
November in Albany, N.Y., as an Arthur
Cohn production. Melvin Sokolsky is the
director. The plot concerns a man's return to
life after a cyrogenic suspension. Paul
Mayersberg has written the screenplay based
on the novel by Anders Bodelson.
THE SHILLINGSBURY BLOWERS, a
story about the commotion resulting when a
pop music star and his wife move into a small
English village, is now shooting in Britain.
Trevor Howard is starring; Val Guest is the
director.
SUDDEN GOLD will be produced for
Universal by Moshe Mizrahi, who also plans
to direct the $8 million project. Target date for
completion is sometime in 1981.
Walt Disney Productions plans to begin
shooting late this month in London on A
WATCHER IN THE WOODS. The super
natural thriller will star Bette Davis as an older
woman despondent over the disappearance of
her daughter. John Hough will direct from the
script by Brian Clemens, Rosemary Sisson and
Gerry Day. Ron Miller will produce.
LONGRIDERS, a film about the legendary
James and Younger brothers, is set for an
Aug. 10 starting date in Georgia Walter Hill
will direct and some of Hollywood's most
famous actor brothers will star. James Keach
and Stacy Keach will star as Jesse James and
Frank James, Keith Carradine and Robert
Carradine will star as Cole Younger, Jim
Younger and Bobby Younger, respectively,
and Randy Quaid and Dennis Quaid will star
as Clell and Ed Miller Stacy Keach and James
Keach will also serve as executive producers.
Shooting is under way in Montreal on PIN-
BALL SUMMER, a comedy about senior
high school students on the loose during the
summer break.
Paramount will make COAST TO
COAST, starring Dyan Cannon as a Beverly
Bills heiress who flees cross-country with a
truck driver to foil her husband's attempt to
have her declared insane. Steve Tisch and
John Avnet will produce the film, described as
being in the tradition of the classic comedies of
the 1930s. Jeff Boam will write the revised
screenplay based on the original script by
Stanley Weiser and David O'Dell.
Producer Pancho Kohner and Aurora Pro
ductions will begin shooting in August in
Spokane, Wash., on THE FABRICATOR, to
SUZANNE, a $1,000,000 Canadian production
of Robert Lantos and Stephen J Roth
and their RSL Films company began filming
July 3 in Montreal with Robert Spry directing
from a script he wrote with Ronald
Sutherland, based on the novel by Sutherland.
Heading the allCanadian cast are Jennifer
Dale, Gabriel Arcand. Michele Rossignol,
Winston Rekert and Ken Pogue.
Rastar Films is aiming for an October
release through Columbia for its SKATE-
TOWN, U.S.A., a comedy-musical featuring
some of the top disco roller stars and music
groups, including the Beach Boys. A $300,000

set has been built at the Hollywood Palladium,
turning that auditorium into a sound»slage
Michael Nolin and Lorin Dreyfuss are the executive
producers Nick Castle wrote the
screenplay and William A. Levey is producing.
HUNTER'S LAW is planned for filming
on locations in Manhattan, NY., and Fort
Lee, N.J.. by producer David Broadnax who
also will star in the feature and will co write
the screenplay with Emmett Murphy. The
story will deal with a modern-day bounty
hunter.
Cathy Lee Crosby and her CLC Produc
tions are developing NIGHTMARE, a
thriller set in New York, in which she will star
in the lead female role. Vrana wrote the
original screenplay.
Jerry Tokofsky, former vice president of
production for Columbia Pictures, has signed
a deal with Warner Bros, to develop THE
GIRL THAT HE MARRIES, based on
Rhoda Lerman's novel, an ironic story about a
young woman who gets the man she wants
and soon discovers that he wasn't the man she
really wanted after all. Susan Silver will adapt
the book to the screen, her first feature film
writing job.
Universal WHERE THE BUFFALO
ROAM, starring Peter Boyle and Bill Murray,
began principal photography July 5 at the
studio. Art Linson will produce and direct
from John Kaye's screenplay.
Producer Zale Magder has set an Aug. 6
start in Toronto on NEVER TRUST AN
HONEST THIEF, a crime drama starring Or
son Welles and Michael Murphy in roles as a
small town sheriff and his deputy. George
McGowan will direct from the script by Carl
and Phyllis DeSantis.
Rastar Films plans to begin production in
spring
1980 on COLETTE, based on the life
of one of France's most popular writers. Jean-
Claude Tramont will direct from the script being
written by Emmy winner Carol Sobieski,
who also wrote "Casey's Shadow."
Rastar also has a spring 1 980 date penciled
for production on GET A JOB for Columbia
Pictures. Michael Nolin will produce, the
original story by Richard Rothstein.
Casablanca Record & FilmWorks began
shooting July 9 in Pasadena on THE
HOLLYWOOD KNIGHT, which has an
eight-week schedule set on locations in the
Hollywood area. Floyd Mutrux is directing
the comedy about a car club from his original
script. Richard Lederer is producing the Columbia
release and William Tennant,
Casablanca film president, is executive producer.

Five of the Little Angels of Korea will play
orphan children in One Way Productions'
OH, INCHON, starring Laurence Olivier and
Jacqueline Bisset. The 9 to 15-year-old kids
will be named Biggest, Bigger, Middle, Little
and Littler, orphans who attach themselves to
Bisset as she flees from advancing Communist
troops. The youngsters are members of the
Little Angels of Korea choral group of 60
children that presents concerts in the world's
major cities.
David Opatoshu has signed for a role in
BEYOND EVIL, IFl/Scope III feature to
begin shooting in August.
Graham Jams has been cast in MIDDLE
AGE CRAZY, which began shooting July 16
in Houston. John Trent is directing for executive
producers Sid and Marty Kroft.
Ann Weldon has been signed for THE
SERIAL, now shooting at Paramount
Studios
Marcia Rodd has joined the cast of
THAT'S LIFE. Jerry Lewis is directing the
film in Palm Aire, Fla.
Randy Glass has a role in WHERE THE
BUFFALO ROAM, being produced and
directed by Art Linson.
Susan Sarandon has signed to star in LOV-
ING COUPLES, first film feature planned by
Time Life. Shirley MacLaine and ,'ames
Coburn are also starring.
Don Henderson has signed for a role in
Universal THE ISLAND.
Lee Bryant and Loran Patterson have been
cast in Paramount's AIRPLANE! Patterson
plays a singing stewardess who serenades an
ailing girl passenger.
Brooke Shields and Christopher Atkins will
star in Columbia's THE BLUE LAGOON,
which began shooting in the Fiji Islands on
June 18. Randal Kleiser is directing the story
about two children living alone in the South
Pacific.
Nancy Hazeltine. Janet Thomas. Jeanie
Rap, Jan Wierenga and Virginia Logan have
been signed for Lonmar Films'CARNY.being
directed by Robert Kaylor in Savannah, Ga.
Kate Reid has joined the cast of DEATH
SHIP, Canadian-United Kingdom coproduction
starring George Kennedy and
Richard Crenna.
Australian Reg Evans has been signed for a
role in THE ISLAND, Zanuck/Brown production
for Universal.
Twin sisters Janet Thomas and Jeanie Rap
will play twins in Lorimar's CARNY.
Robert Forster has signed for a role in
CRUNCH, now shooting in Montreal.
Ethel Merman, Jose Feliciano and Kareem-
Abdul Jabbar have signed for roles in Paramount's
AIRPLANE! Feliciano plays a blind
pilot of a jet plane. Merman plays herself, and
Jabbar plays himself masquerading as an
airline co-pilot.
Joey Foreman will portray Agent 13, Don
Adams' ally in THE RETURN OF MAX-
WELL SMART, a Jennings Lang production
now shooting for Universal.
