Phyllis Bagdadi has been named story
editor for Melvin Simon Productions. She has
been director of development lor Mona Moore
& Associates, a motion picture and television
development company.
William iYlahan has been named to the new
ly created position of vice president and chief
financial officer of the Wrather Corp. Most
recently he was vice president and controller
of American Investment Co. of Si
Louis.
Kelly Welles has been named executive
director of creative advertising for Paramount
Pictures motion picture division, a newly
formed unit of the company Completing the
unit's staffing are Don La Fontaine, executive
director of visual services, and Sid Eisenberg,
national director of advertising. Welles
previously was vice president, creative directoi
with Gordon & Shorn Advertising
Robert Wong has been appointed to the
new position of director of finance and plann
ing for ABC Pictures International Inc.. it was
announced by Robert Dinsmore. director of
operations. ABC Pictures International, to
whom he reports.
Gill Champion has been named West Coast
director for new projects development for the
Producer Circle Co. Before joining the company
in 1976 he was a principal in a New
York casting company.
Dawn Steel has been named vice president,
merchandising and licensing for Paramount
Pictures, it was announced by Michael D.
Eisner, president and chief operating officer.
Reene Sehisgal has been appointed Last
Coast story editor for Warner Bros . n u.is an
nounced by Diane Sokolow, Warner's vice
president. Last Coasi production. Lor the past
six years. Schisgal has been storv editor lor
Dustm Hoffman's SweetWall Productions.
Herb Jellinek has been promoted to vice
presideni of production for ABC Entertainment
and ABC Motion Pictures He had been
vice president of production for AB( I
since July 1977.
Marilyn Lisberg has left her position with
Lilmways Motion Pictures to become the new
director ol development of feature films and
television movies for Ron Samuels Productions.
J. C. Scott has been named director of
creative affairs for the Edward S. Feldman Co.
to coordinate various motion picture and
television development activities. She formerly
was assistant to the head of the literary depart
ment of International Creative Management.
Before that she was production coordinator
for George Stevens Jr. on the American Film
Institute's "America at the Movies."
Ronald L Stein has been named director of
audio visual services at the Burbank Studios.
Paul Birmingham has been named ex
ecutive vice president of the nontheatrical and
educational distribution division of Para
mount Pictures, moving over from his post as
senior vice president of studio administration.
Worth Keeter has been promoted to assis
taut to the president of the E 0. Motion Pic
lure Company Inc. Kceter's promotion, which
becomes effective immediately, was announc
ed by company president Earl Owensby.
Buena Vista Distribution has named Irene
Robinson branch manager in Denver. She
began with Buena Vista in 1958 as a cashier
and moved through various sales department
|H)sinons to become assistant manager in
1976.
Preston Fischer has been named to the new
ly created position of vice president of
theatrical and TV film production for Dick
Cla k Cinema Productions. He was with
Trans Atlantic for the last three years, and
was involved in the production of six motion
picture features.
Robert Molson has been appointed as a
regional film buyer for General Cinema Corp.
Theatres. Molson, who assumed his new
duties July 27, was head film buyer for Roth
Theatres in Washington. DC, for the past 1
years. He is headquartered at GCC's Los
Angeles office.
Lewis Goldstein named
Eastern sales manager
NEW YORK— Lewis Goldstein, 31, has
been named Eastern regional sales
manager for Boxon-ICE He succeeds Jim
Young, who retired in July
A native of Brooklyn, NY., Goldstein
resides in Manhattan and will headquarter
in the Vance publication offices at 133
East 58th St.
His territory will include New York,
New England, Pennsylvania, Delaware,
Maryland and Eastern Canada
Goldstein joins BOXOFFK t from B.M.T.
Publications, New York, where he was
director of advertising sales. He holds a
B.A. degree in business administration
from New York University.

C. Joseph La Bonte has been named presi
dent of 20th Century-Fox Enterprises, it was
announced by Dennis C. Stanfill. In this
newly-created position. La Bonte will be
responsible for the supervision of Aspen Skiing
Corp., Pebble Beach Corp. and Coca-Cola
Bottling Midwest.
Arthur Leese has joined Columbia Pictures
Corp. Ltd. in London as company secretary.
Leese joins Columbia from United Artists.
