Shooting an additional footage to complete<br />

SUPERMAN II began Aug. 25 in London.<br />

Most of the principal photography was done<br />

on the Alexander Salkind presentation during<br />

the filming of '"Superman." Christopher Reeve<br />

is<br />

repeating the Superman role.<br />

RESURRECTION DAY, a<br />

Japanese film<br />

featuring an all American cast, will star Glenn<br />

Ford and Henry Silva The futuristic<br />

action adventure/suspense story about germ<br />

warfare set in 1 983 will begin filming in<br />

October in Japan, locations are also planned<br />

for Canada. Chile. Peru and Italy Haruki<br />

Kadokawa will produce.<br />

SPECIAL TREATMENT, a satire on<br />

drinking, will be produced by Dan Tana. Los<br />

Angeles restauranteur who also produces film.<br />

Filming will be done in Yugoslavia with<br />

English subtitles beginning Sept. 10. Goran<br />

Paskaljevio will direct from the script In Filip<br />

David and Dusan Kovacevic.<br />

Mutual General Films plans to begin<br />

photography in January on its S3 million film,<br />

new novel<br />

THE LAST VAMPIRE EVER, a<br />

by Roy Nelson Heumann. The co production<br />

with Abby Theatrical Films will be shot on<br />

location in Canada. Hungary Yugoslavia and<br />

New York.<br />

Walt Disney Productions began shooting<br />

Aug. 17 in England on A WATCHER IN<br />

THE WOODS, starring Bene Davis. Carroll<br />

Baker. David McCallum. Lynn Holly Johnson<br />

and Kyle Richards in an occult thriller. Davis<br />

plays an eccentric old woman obsessed with<br />

the strange and tragic disappearance of her<br />

daughter 30 years ago. Baker and McCallum<br />

are heads of an American family who with<br />

their daughters rent the old lady's house and<br />

get involved in solving the mystery. Brian<br />

Clemens. Rosemary Sisson and Gerry Day<br />

wrote the screenplay and John Hough is<br />

directing.<br />

THE TRILATERAL CONNECTION will<br />

be a SI 2 million feature delving into the<br />

behnd the-scenes world of "the secret power<br />

brokers." heads of the multinational corpora<br />

lions who "secretly rule the world." to be pro<br />

duced by Filmrow International, formerly<br />

Rambull Productions, headed by Ralph<br />

Zucker and Neil Simmons. The script by<br />

Zucker. Jacob Shavit and Joe Miller is based<br />

on an article. "The Bilderberg File: The Men<br />

Who Rule the World." published in 1976 by<br />

Verdict magazine<br />

MGM will go into production next year on<br />

THE AMAZING COSMIC CONNEC<br />

TION, a comedy about an alien from space<br />

involved with a disenfranchised bus driver B<br />

Armyan Bernstein is writing the script and<br />

will co-produce with Alan Greisman.<br />

be produced beginning Sept. 22 in Canada by<br />

Filmplan International; David Cronenberg<br />

will direct from his own script.<br />

DESPERADOES for Warner Bros, from a<br />

Hanson. "Desperadoes" is based on the true<br />

story of Emmett Dalton, one of the Dalton<br />

Brothers Gang who rode during the 1 880s and<br />

1890s, and ended up in Hollywood as a screenwriter<br />

during the 1920s and 1930s.<br />

began shooting Aug. 13 in Montreal. Alvin<br />

Rakoff is directing a screenplay written by two<br />

husband and wife teams. Thomas and Camille<br />

Gifford and Eleanor and William Norton, based<br />

on Gifford's novel. "The Glendower Legacy."<br />

Omar Sharif and Chevy Chase have signed<br />

to co star in Benji's new movie, OH,<br />

HEAVENLY DOG. Sharif will play the<br />

villain in the unusual sleuth story written by<br />

Joe Camp and Rod Browning. Camp's<br />

Mulberry Square Productions will begin filming<br />

Analysis Film Releasing: U.S. rights to<br />

BELOVED LOVER, Brazilian film, a<br />

dramatic thriller set in the seamy Copacabana<br />

section of Rio de Janeiro, dealing with the cor<br />

rupted lives of three characters, a veteran<br />

police detective, his daughter and her lover. A<br />

February release is planned.<br />

American International: JAGUAR LIVES,<br />

a story of an undercover agent named I he<br />

Jaguar and his worldwide tracking of villains<br />

behind a huge narcotics plot. Aug. 31 was the<br />

Filming is planned to begin next spring on<br />

SIDNEY BLUE on locations in New York<br />

and Madrid: Russell Nype is starring for pro<br />

ducer Saul Primrose, who also will direct from<br />

his own screenplay<br />

NICARAGUA, using the upheaval in<br />

that<br />

country as a backdrop to an action adventure<br />

love story, will be produced by Spencer Young<br />

and James Margellos as a $5 million project<br />

based on a script by Derek Goldman who used<br />

a four year diary of a Nicaraguan journalist as<br />

source material. Filming is scheduled to start<br />

in February.<br />

Sandy Howard Productions plans to begin<br />

filming this winter on California locations on<br />

SAVAGE HARVEST, a suspense thriller<br />

Natalie Wood will play a cameo role as<br />

herself, and Sol Frieder and Donald Muhich<br />

have been cast as psychiatrists in Paul<br />

Mazursky's WILLIE AND PHIL, shooting<br />

at 20th Century-Fox. Mazursky has rounded<br />

out the casting of mental probers by putting<br />

himself into the role of a slick, hip. Beverly<br />

Hills psychiatrist.<br />

Leonard Frey has joined the cast of Univer<br />

sals WHERE THE BUFFALO ROAM,<br />

directed by Art Linson.<br />

Roger Perry has been cast in Compass<br />
