Shooting an additional footage to complete
SUPERMAN II began Aug. 25 in London.
Most of the principal photography was done
on the Alexander Salkind presentation during
the filming of '"Superman." Christopher Reeve
is
repeating the Superman role.
RESURRECTION DAY, a
Japanese film
featuring an all American cast, will star Glenn
Ford and Henry Silva The futuristic
action adventure/suspense story about germ
warfare set in 1 983 will begin filming in
October in Japan, locations are also planned
for Canada. Chile. Peru and Italy Haruki
Kadokawa will produce.
SPECIAL TREATMENT, a satire on
drinking, will be produced by Dan Tana. Los
Angeles restauranteur who also produces film.
Filming will be done in Yugoslavia with
English subtitles beginning Sept. 10. Goran
Paskaljevio will direct from the script In Filip
David and Dusan Kovacevic.
Mutual General Films plans to begin
photography in January on its S3 million film,
new novel
THE LAST VAMPIRE EVER, a
by Roy Nelson Heumann. The co production
with Abby Theatrical Films will be shot on
location in Canada. Hungary Yugoslavia and
New York.
Walt Disney Productions began shooting
Aug. 17 in England on A WATCHER IN
THE WOODS, starring Bene Davis. Carroll
Baker. David McCallum. Lynn Holly Johnson
and Kyle Richards in an occult thriller. Davis
plays an eccentric old woman obsessed with
the strange and tragic disappearance of her
daughter 30 years ago. Baker and McCallum
are heads of an American family who with
their daughters rent the old lady's house and
get involved in solving the mystery. Brian
Clemens. Rosemary Sisson and Gerry Day
wrote the screenplay and John Hough is
directing.
THE TRILATERAL CONNECTION will
be a SI 2 million feature delving into the
behnd the-scenes world of "the secret power
brokers." heads of the multinational corpora
lions who "secretly rule the world." to be pro
duced by Filmrow International, formerly
Rambull Productions, headed by Ralph
Zucker and Neil Simmons. The script by
Zucker. Jacob Shavit and Joe Miller is based
on an article. "The Bilderberg File: The Men
Who Rule the World." published in 1976 by
Verdict magazine
MGM will go into production next year on

Armyan Bernstein is writing the script and
will co-produce with Alan Greisman.
s( VNNERS, a science fiction thriller, will
be produced beginning Sept. 22 in Canada by
Filmplan International; David Cronenberg
will direct from his own script.

William Friedkin will produce and direct
DESPERADOES for Warner Bros, from a
screenplay being written by Walon Green,
based on the book of the same title by Ron
Hanson. "Desperadoes" is based on the true
story of Emmett Dalton, one of the Dalton
Brothers Gang who rode during the 1 880s and
1890s, and ended up in Hollywood as a screenwriter
during the 1920s and 1930s.
WHY WOULD I LIE, formerly "Trust
MGM on location in
Me." began filming for
Spokane. Wash. Larry Peerce is directing and
Treat Williams and Lisa Eichhorn are starring.
DIRTY TRICKS, starring
Kate Jackson,
Elliott Gould, Arthur Hill and Rich Little,
began shooting Aug. 13 in Montreal. Alvin
Rakoff is directing a screenplay written by two
husband and wife teams. Thomas and Camille
Gifford and Eleanor and William Norton, based
on Gifford's novel. "The Glendower Legacy."

CLASH OF THE TITANS, an adventure
story now in
production on various locations
in Spain, Italy. Malta and at Pinewood Studios
in London; Desmond Davis is directing.
Albert Finney has signed to star in Orion
WOLFEN, a contemporary tale of
Pictures'
urban horror scheduled to begin shooting this
fall on location in New York City; Michael
Wadleigh is directing. Alan King and Rubert
Hitzig are producing.
William DuPre has been cast as a Turkish
sergeant in One Way Productions' SI 8 million
film. OH, INCHON.
Jane Seymour has signed for the female lead
in Mulberry Square's production of OH,
HEAVENLY DOG.
Singer Bonnie Raitt has a role in URBAN
COWBOY, now filming in Houston.
Sharita Hunt and Cherry Jones have signed
for roles as maternity ward nurses in WILLIE
AND PHIL, a 20th Century-Fox feature now
in production.
Mikki Markette. Vicki Thomas, Pat
Hemingway and Leign French have been cast
in THE HOLLYWOOD KNIGHTS,
Casablanca feature shooting in Los Angeles.
Omar Sharif and Chevy Chase have signed
to co star in Benji's new movie, OH,
HEAVENLY DOG. Sharif will play the
villain in the unusual sleuth story written by
Joe Camp and Rod Browning. Camp's
Mulberry Square Productions will begin filming
this month in London.

CUT, joining the previously announced Burt

David Merrick Production to be directed by
Don Siegel.
Deborah Raffin and Michael Viner have
acquired the film rights to ANGELA
AMBROSIA by Ray Errol Fox. which they
will produce under their own banner. Dove
Productions. Raffin will star in the film which
will have a script by the book's author.

Singer Wayne Newton's Wanco firm has
signed Jack Marlando to write the screenplay
for FATHER, FATHER, planned to be
Newton's first starring film, based on an
original story by Jay W. Stream.
Arthur Ibbetson has signed as
cinematographer on HOPSCOTCH, set to
shoot in Munich Sept. 2. Ronald Neame is
directing and Walter Matthau is starring.

Analysis Film Releasing: U.S. rights to
BELOVED LOVER, Brazilian film, a
dramatic thriller set in the seamy Copacabana
section of Rio de Janeiro, dealing with the cor
rupted lives of three characters, a veteran
police detective, his daughter and her lover. A
February release is planned.
American International: JAGUAR LIVES,
a story of an undercover agent named I he
Jaguar and his worldwide tracking of villains
behind a huge narcotics plot. Aug. 31 was the
release date.

Filming is planned to begin next spring on
SIDNEY BLUE on locations in New York
and Madrid: Russell Nype is starring for pro
ducer Saul Primrose, who also will direct from
his own screenplay
NICARAGUA, using the upheaval in
that
country as a backdrop to an action adventure
love story, will be produced by Spencer Young
and James Margellos as a $5 million project
based on a script by Derek Goldman who used
a four year diary of a Nicaraguan journalist as
source material. Filming is scheduled to start
in February.
Sandy Howard Productions plans to begin
filming this winter on California locations on
SAVAGE HARVEST, a suspense thriller
Natalie Wood will play a cameo role as
herself, and Sol Frieder and Donald Muhich
have been cast as psychiatrists in Paul
Mazursky's WILLIE AND PHIL, shooting
at 20th Century-Fox. Mazursky has rounded
out the casting of mental probers by putting
himself into the role of a slick, hip. Beverly
Hills psychiatrist.
Leonard Frey has joined the cast of Univer
sals WHERE THE BUFFALO ROAM,
directed by Art Linson.
Roger Perry has been cast in Compass
International's ROLLER BOOGIE, now
shooting in Los Angeles
