Welcome to SXSW Eco!
SXSW Eco supports solutions for a better world by bringing together professionals in business, government, nonprofits
and academia who want to look at environmental and sustainability issues though a fresh lens. With three days
comprised of 120+ sessions and 250+ speakers from around the United States and other countries, this second year of
SXSW Eco also includes many special events to socialize with your colleagues and to create new collaborations which
can shape the future.
Since SXSW Music was born in 1987, SXSW Inc. has worked hard to facilitate diverse conversations for professionals
within the Music, Film and Interactive communities. New partnerships have been formed, new ventures born, and existing
business relationships strengthened.
In 2006, SXSW established a Sustainability Team comprised of staff across our various departments to help guide
our company in our mission to take responsibility for our environmental impacts. By promoting awareness of the
environmental impact that our actions have within our corporate culture we hope to find solutions that limit and mitigate
the environmental effects of our operations and events. Our growing interest in sustainable practices in addition to a
greater demand from our audience for programming in this area led us to create SXSW Eco.
We hope our knowledge and experience in creating dynamic forums for innovation and collaboration can serve this
community well. We are eager for your feedback, so please take time to respond to our survey which we will send to
everyone upon conclusion of the event ... or just grab one of our staff members to speak personally.
