Family accommodation and Self-contained<br />
flats<br />
We have 16 self-contained flats for students<br />
with children under 16 at Clydesdale Rise, a<br />
complex on the Streatham Campus. The flats<br />
have one, two or three bedrooms. Whilst King<br />
Edward Court, close to the Streatham Campus,<br />
provides eight self-contained flats, which are<br />
suitable for couples.<br />
Accommodation for disabled students<br />
There are a number <strong>of</strong> en-suite and studio<br />
rooms that are suitable for students with<br />
a range <strong>of</strong> disabilities. Please discuss your<br />
personal needs with the Accommodation Office<br />
and with the Accessibility Service at the time<br />
<strong>of</strong> your application. We will be happy to supply<br />
you with further information and arrange for<br />
you to visit.<br />
Residents’ wellbeing<br />
Throughout the <strong>University</strong> there is a<br />
comprehensive range <strong>of</strong> wellbeing services<br />
<strong>of</strong>fered as well as our 24/7 security response<br />
team. In our residences, we also have a<br />
dedicated Residence Life team who are available<br />
to provide help and advice on welfare issues<br />
and guidance on other matters whilst you are<br />
living within our accommodation.<br />
Cost<br />
Rooms are let for either 42, 44 or 51 weeks and<br />
all contracts commence the weekend before<br />
Welcome Week.<br />
For the 2011/12 academic year, the cost <strong>of</strong> a<br />
single room in self-catering accommodation<br />
was between £78 and £124 per week,<br />
depending on the type <strong>of</strong> room. For a single<br />
studio flat, it was £134-148 per week.<br />
There may be a limited number <strong>of</strong> places for<br />
UK and EU postgraduate students available on<br />
a first-come, first-served basis. International<br />
postgraduate students who apply after the<br />
deadline and all UK or EU postgraduates will be<br />
<strong>of</strong>fered a place if rooms are still available. We<br />
will update our application site with details <strong>of</strong><br />
whether rooms are still available during the year.<br />
Accommodation in Cornwall<br />
Glasney Student Village <strong>of</strong>fers high quality,<br />
en-suite accommodation on campus. The<br />
residences are divided into self-catered flats<br />
each with seven study-bedrooms. The rooms<br />
are furnished to a high standard with double<br />
bed, wardrobe, desk, telephone and internet<br />
points.<br />
The communal kitchen/dining areas are<br />
furnished with fully fitted kitchen, tables and<br />
chairs. Additional facilities at Glasney Student<br />
Village include coin-operated launderettes,<br />
several bicycle stores and surfboard stores as<br />
well as the recently opened on-campus café.<br />

A number <strong>of</strong> en-suite rooms have been<br />
modified for students with a range <strong>of</strong><br />
disabilities. Please discuss your individual<br />
needs with the Accommodation Office or your<br />
Accessibility Adviser.<br />
Cost<br />
The rent for the 2011/12 academic year was<br />
£120.75 per week and includes all utility bills<br />
and contents insurance cover for the room.<br />
